Things you're glad they didn't do/ want them to keep doing.

A lot of the threads on here I've noticed are about things people DON'T want to see in another fallout game or wish they'd change, or things the developers should have done.

This thread is to say "hey, I like this, I'd like to see this in the next fallout game" or "man I'm glad you didn't follow this trend"

Here's my personal list:

Keep doing!

Companion quests: in the first 3 fallout games they were mostly bullet sponges, and in no fallout game have I ever bothered before, more personality made me actually take and keep one, oh and thank you for making it easier to keep them alive.

hardcoe mode: Might need tweaking but it's a lot of fun and it's nice that if you turn it off you get some difficulty mods (like essential teammates) that are quite nice.

Weapon mods: Might need expansion but it's fun and it gives me an incentive to keep the same gun as opposed to ditching my pistol whenever the condition gets low and picking up another one off the ground for everything except rare weapons

Varied food: Make the wasteland feel real, great for RP.

I'm really glad you didn't:

Dual-wielding pistols: The hollywood action star favorite, but it would have killed realism entirely. Thank you for not following the overly-cinematic route when designing the FPS elements.

Enclave as the big bad: I'm glad there's a new bad guy in town and you're not just walking over the same ground again and again. It shows me the series is evolving, not stagnating. Something few 4th installments can ever say.

Pros:

I loved that the world was more organized. There was agriculture and animal husbandry, which made the world so much more pleasant. If they combined that with the "The Pit" style industry it would have been flawless.

I enjoyed the quests a lot more than in FO3. Having settlements as important central quest/exp nodes improved the game a lot.

Companions were amazing in FONV, they actually helped 85%+ of the time.

Caravans/traveling merchants were a huge improvement over FO3, but should still be made bigger.

Quests have options.

Cons:

Energy Weapons, b4 player made mods they were totally useless.

Bugs: I am ok with periodic crashes and occasional corrupted saves, but if I cant fire lever action guns in a Wild Wild West setting....shame on you ppl lol.

The bad guy playthrough seriously lacks meat. Also, why do the bad guy have to be such a psychopaths? Why cant we have normal power hungry greedy ppl with overly flexible morals? Why must they always be slavers and rapists on top of that?
