Does anyone know for sure if things like plants in your home regrow?I bought the house in Riften and the garden has yet to regrow.If you use any of the alchemy ingredients or eat the food do they replenish?

Who the hell is gone from their house for 30 days? In other words, NO it won't ever regrow unless you never ever come home. For role playing purposes I go home at the end of every session to sleep, eat, and rest up. For utilitarian purposes I store all my gathered ingredients, any new prizes I've decided to keep, and then brew up some new potions & enchant my loot with spare gems I have. I also make some venison stew for the road and added HP regen it provides. So staying away from home for more than 30 days is next to impossible for me.

At most a few in game days maybe a week will pass but never 30 days. Too bad Bethesda never really thinks about the little details which make the game infinitely better. Good thing us modders do.

I guess it's the same for all the houses?Not really a big deal, I just liked the idea of being able to pick my own stuff.Kind of like the garden at the mage college in Oblivion.Every couple of days you could go back and get what you needed.

That's where multiple homes come into play. Move back to Breezehome for a month and return. See if if they've re-grown. I honestly have no idea, but that's what I would try.

The items do not respawn. There is however an exploding item bug so you cannot set up your house.

I hate that bug with a passion.

I assume the Arch-Mages quarters count as a "home", yes? I harvested all the ingredients there and took most of the soul gems. and while it took some time, they all came back. I could not tell you much time passed between events. As for the purchased homes, I don't have enough experience with these yet to know for sure, but I have taken a few things like grand soul gems so I will be able to know at some point if the items do respawn.

I think it only applies to houses you buy.

I have heard of people saying it does respawn, but mine never has. I use my Riften house constantly though.

I always thought it was funny that the flowers in front of the Orphanage will respawn, but the garden doesn't.

Ok, cool. I will still be checking as time permits. My character is up to level 70 now so hopefully I will see something either way before I start another campaign.

There was one oddity that occurred speaking of respawn and it has to do with Vilkas. I was using him as a tag-along and he managed to get killed accidentally. By the time I realized it had happened, I was too far gone to want to go back and resume from an earlier checkpoint. A few weeks later I found him sitting back at the ranch in a reset state meaning he had lost all the stuff I had given him. However, he still is willing to give me work assignments. That did not happen with the Argonian mage that had also gotten himself killed and I suspect he is still where he died.

The second part is probably a bug.

Riften is the only house I own right now.I was thinking about buying another house so I guess I'll do that but I don't know which one.I like Whiterun but the house is so small and no enchanting.I guess I'll keep looking.Maybe if I get enough houses I will get the harvestable things to grow back.

Bought the house in Markarth and stayed away from Riften for 30 days.The garden regrew but nothing else.No alchemy ingredients food or soul gems.
