Have already completed Come fly with me and raided vault 3 didnt take the part for the brother hood quest.
Lv 27
was on the for the republic part2
was on the house always wins part2.
orignal corrupt save occured after raiding vault for still in the dark quest save1 right after starting the Bye bye love quest
second corrupt save right before taking the girls to meet carlito's outside of gommara also corrupt.
using a silenced snipe with carbon fiber parts.
to confirm i have been i vault 3 i have motto runners head in my inventory and it wont let me drop it.

step by step recration of events with alot of saving trying to isolate the bug.
1. Load only working save. Doing Still in the Dark. was in brotherhood bunker Talking to lorenzo about quest. Suppost to search vaults for A pulse Cleanser. and differantal pressure controller. already turned in the HEPA cartridege Filter(Vault 22). Have Raul and rex as Companions. raul has chinees stealth armor combat helment mark2 and bunch of junk that i made him carry.
2. saved after loading. Load was sucsseful.
3. exited Brother hood bunker to hidden vally. saved the game againt. Load was sucsessful. auto save also sucsessfully loaded.
4, fast traveled to vault 3 since i had already been there.
VAULT(3). test 1
1.saved after fast travel((south vegas ruins). load was sucsessful.
2.killed some fiends before entering the vault
3.saved again(south vegas ruins). load was sucsessful.
4.entered Vault 3 there was nothing hear for me to kill so i can just basically run around with no confilct.
5 saved. load was got error message kicked to start screen. auto save was got error message kicked to start screen pre vault save was (south vegas ruins right in front of vault door) was sucsessfull.
?????? wonder why i was able to go in the first time with no ill consequences. That was before come fly with me or still in the dark. if anybody care to try testing the vault before doing the come fly with me quest and then after to see if it is the problem. and the same with Still in the dark. I probably will do this my self add more in a couple of days.
(Vault 3 = Cause) but is it isolated to just saving while in the vault. ??????

VAULT(3) test 2
1.loaded from working save(See Vault 3 test 1 #5)
2. entered the vault
3. left vault
4 saved outsid of vault load (DLC content missing, kicked to start). autosave( CRASH, Had to hardboot)
(Vault3 = cause) Isnt isolate but is triggered by a event that occurs in the game. this i because i have entered vault 3 before and did not have this problem have motto runners helemt to prove it. 1
1st time in the vault i was still working on for the republic part 1 before compeleting come fly with me.
2nd time just finished come fly with me was working on getting a level to boost speech so i could resuce the hokers before killing the gommara bosses without failing the bye bye love quest.
rebreather was still in inventory (supsision is that the rebreather for some reason might not be load into inventory after entering the vault)
i,m currently experinceing the bug where the rebreather cannot be sold or removed from inventory.(think this might have something to do with it) if you can sell or drop your rebreather please confirm if vault 3 cause DLC bug. thankyou.

Vault(3) test 3
1.loaded from working save (see vault 3 test 1 #5)
2. entered vault left vault fast traveled to goodsprings
3.saved game load( dlc erro) auto( Dlc error)






VAULT(11)
1. Fast travled from working Save(See vault 3 test 1 #5) to 188 trading post
2. Saved game. load was sucsessful.
3. Walked to Vault 11
4. saved outside of vault 11 wooden door. load was sucessful
5. entered the door. saved again save was sucsessful. auto save was sucsessful.
6. ran through ignoring the quest holotape at the beginning of the vault to the liviing quarters.
7.saved game. load was sucsesful. auto was sucsessful.
8. Ran strait to vault 11 lower level.
9. saved. load was sucsessful. auto was sucsessful.
(Vault 11 not likely the cause)

I've been to Vault 3 with this character once. My save and auto save still works and it been several hour since I last visited Vault 3.
When I entered I had already completed " Come Fly With Me" and had started " For The Republic Part 1"
Although I have yet to do any BOS quests. Also I won A speech challenge at the entrance to avoid the Fiends being hostile to me on entry so I don't have Moto Runner's helmet as of yet.
I did have the rebreather in my inventory at the time though.

haha says alot about the game/developers when people are expected to run intricate bugtesting schemes to actually play the game. And if they don't and complain they are marked as whiners. Go jump off a cliff, 4realz

Yeah, seriously who has time to run test like this to isolate problems? sounds like a full time job to me.

i appreciate what your trying to do..really i do..but its not our job to fix whats wrong here..we shouldnt have to do that..it should have been done right in the first place and properly tested..oh im sorry i shouldnt be whining..

i hope you get paid for that beta testing...

my dlc error happened in the boomer place with all the ants. i'd done some vault 3 & vault11 mooching- no troubles.

i'd just saved when going to kill the last 2 ants and some almighty splosion killed me - autoload just froze and then all 10 saves corrupted.

i never did come fly with me and i did visit the strip - it's weird how it's different for so many people :blink:

Vault 3 Before doing come fly with me
1. loaded charater that i had started previoulsy but had not done come fly with me. gonna test saving at vault
2 can save after entering vault3(no corruption) with my chartarer. loaded sucsessfully.

vault 3 after doing volare.
1. done ant misbehaving.
2.done sunshine boogie
3. talked to kid about history.
4. went to vault 3 saved inside of vault.
5. load was susecsful
6 . went to living quarters saved
7. load was sucsessful.
8. went to Maintane wing saved
9. load was sucsessful
(Quest Volare before raising the airplane no effect on vault 3)

Vault 3 after volare with aquired rebreather.
while doing quest i belive i encountered glitch at helios one. when i went outside to salvage the spare parts old lady gibbson 3 dogs and 2 molerats basically loaded right ontop of me it was freaking wierd the first fing i saw after loading was a hazy of enemies.
1.saved before aquiring the rebreather. load was sucsessful.
2. saved after completing volare load was sucesfull
3.went to vault 3
4. saved inside of vault 3 load was( sucsessfull)
(Rebreather and volare have no effet on vault 3) what happens in the game that cause vault 3 to start going corrupt.(thinking maybe brotherhood quest) farther testing required.

this was a simple test to see if having the rebreather would cause vault 3 to corrupt save. if we are going to fix this we need to identify what it is in the game world that cause the vault to start corrupting saves.
Confirmed Reabreather has no effet on saves
Confirmed completing volare will not effect your saves and will not corrupt vault 3.
still to test Quest still in the dark

still to test completing for the republic Part1.
Will countine to update on these topics as i test them in hopes of finding the cause of the issue of the DLC error. if you wish to help pls do.

Were any of your saves before you entered vault 3. it will corrupt every save that you make after you entered the vault. did you complete for the repulbic part1. see here what i find weird
have on game where i can go runn around the vault and save as much as i want with no issues. but on my other charater it corrupts every save that i have after entering the vault. im currently trying to isolate what differences in the two charaters are so i can figure out what is causing vault 3 to corrupt my saves.
so far iv have determined that the rebreather and volare have no effect towards causing vault 3 to become corrupt.

so far ive only been messing with it for about 2-3 hours. since im taking classes on computer and using point form to trouble shoot them for school this seemed like it would be good side project for reinforcment.
cant really do alot with the game though. studinying to be a system admin. games really aint on the agenda.

Yeah glad that people on both the PC and Xbox forums have been working to help isolate this bug. It was partially addressed in the last PC patch and should be more comprehensively adressed in the upcoming all-platform patch release. I imagine, in part, because of people meticulously documenting what exactly is causing this glitch.

From what official response there has been, the patch is "very nearly complete" so fingers crossed right?

EDIT: Yeah despite the "DLC" error message this bug generates it is not exclusive the Xbox360 version and produces save game corruption on all platforms in the same areas. It seems to have something to do with shared variables (a global variable probably) being set to an nonsensical value. Either an integer being set to a floating point or a true false statement being set to a negative value or something similar. The malformed variable is able to be written in memory while the game is running but casues the game to fail when it attempts to interpret it on loading a save with the malformed information in it.

mine didnt start screwing up until i started the mission "for the republic, part 2". it needs to be fixed. i ended up paying $80 for a game i cant play. gamestop ripped me off 20

no, i overwrote all the saves but now i create new ones everytime - im up to 40 saves so far :brokencomputer: .. hope the patch hits before i get to 100
