I'm not 100% sure but i think i saw a grenade launcher attachment on an assault rifle.
in the "more results from quakecon" topic, Wraith posted an interview (thanks for the interview by the way Wraith) with Paul Wedgewood, check it out and pay attention to the screen to his left at 50-55 seconds... could it be?... i hope not but what else could it be? maybe a torch or something?? let me no what you think it is. Ahhhh They are too.... Well also I guess they did show nade launchers in the cinematic if you've watched the full video on the Official site.
Nothing we can do. n00bs will be n00bs... you have CoD with noobs tubing, and then CS:S with n00bs awping, BF:BC 2 with n00bs doing suicidal C4 runs etc.

No matter what game you play... the developers always give something for n00bs to kill with

Under barrel grenade launchers are common in warfare, you just think they are bad because of what Call Of Duty has done with them, which make them excessively overpowered and easy to aim. But things could be different, for starters you have to shoot it at their feet to get instant kill, and it will take a while to reload hopefully, enough for a light to jump away, a medium to run away, and a heavy to kick the noobtubers ass :)

Trust me and SD when i say it aint gonna be a COD and throw the balancing out the window.

Grenade launchers don't always have to be like the noobtubes in Call of Duty. I'm not that worried until I actually see it.

I think I would have to see how they work in the game before making a decision but they could go either way: Be a handy tool to have around on the occasions that you need it or just an easy-kill weapon to make n00bs feel like they amount to something.

Also remember, they actually have Grenade Launchers as a Heavy weapon, so the GL attachment, is probably not that bad at all. Also, the more attachments you put on a gun, the heavier it is, so (as stated in an interview) only Heavies can wield the really tricked out guns.

I don't think it will be that bad with Brinks mechanics, based on the number of shoots it seems to take to kill someone I don't think 1 hit grenades make that much sense, so a grenade launcher would be used to take a group of peoples health down, which IMO is a legitimate use for one. But we will see.

Exactly, it makes no sense.

Ah what would be a more perfect attachment to your minigun??? I KNOW a grenade launcher! You can later upgrade it to the deathray attachment.

How does it not make sense? It gives you whatever weapon you have it attached to, plus a grenade launcher. As opposed to just the grenade launcher which is going to be a more specialized weapon with less flexibility.

I'm gonna pray to God that it is restricted to assault rifles, or that it is just a flashlight.

Why not give the mini gun nuclear rounds? So firing each shot is like firing a nuclear bomb :)

that would mean i would die of radiation poisoning at the least.
i might be wielding an overpowered and extremely heavy weapon, but i'm not suicidal

Im sorry to burst your bubble, but i saw a trigger on the "flashlight"

Im sure SD have already thought this through, if it is an underslung grenade launcher, they will have realised that the actual grenade launcher is now redundant. So im certain they will have made the proper gl a bit more powerful than the underslung gl so players who want to use a gl can. Plus it will have more ammo, probably better range and also better accuracy, like sights or something

Hmm if they took out the GL as a heavy weapon and made it an attachment they would need another big weapon for the heavies. I particularly liked the BFBC GL's. "glorified door openers"
