Thinking of getting this game...

So, It's on sale for $40 at Gamestop for the PS3 version, So I might trade SOCOM 4 in and grab this, But I have some questions.

1. Is the community still decent (On PS3)? I hear some people are having issues finding people to play with. Is there a trick to finding people, or is it really dead?

2. Is the community likely to stick around for a while?

3. How long does level progression take? Can you reset?

You might want to wait until the patch and DLC come out. There are still lag issues and other problems with the game that need to be addressed. I dont know how the community is but, you can go over to www.splashdamage.com, join the forums and add your name to the ps3 players list. You should be able to find people to play with fairly easily.

1. No, but bots fill in

2. This is what people asked a week after the game came out. We've already reached "a while" and the community is already dedicated fans only.

3. Max level is 20. Takes about as long as half a prestige in a call of duty to reach it. Up to 10 characters you can have too.

4. A big reason I got BRINK is to have a multiplayer-ish game playable without internet. Good bots and varied gameplay, that's what it has. So glad I got it for that.

Hmm, I'll check that date out, But still, How would you go about finding a game? Is it like Killzone 3, Where there's obviously people playing, But the matchmaking svcks? Thank you for the quick reply though :)

There is still a good amount of players on, even if you don't find private groups to run with.. match making is still something that needs work but it's not a game breaker, some players will back out of a match the second they see "unfair" numbers instead of sticking around and waiting for the other team to balance the sides.. While some are worried about getting the W, I would rather have a good match and keep the room running.. I usually run with about three to five who have the same mind set..

Just know that you cannot play Brink the same way you play other shooters, as in standing still or trying to go toe to toe with someone.. Keep moving, there are a few maps with bottle necks but there is always another route to get behind the other team and push them back..

I would not wait for the DLC to hit, if this is something you are thinking about getting then just do it.. And know that you will be getting more stuff in the next few weeks..

The level process does go by pretty quick depending on how much up play, but as others had said you have 10 character slots and you can re-spec them at anytime..

it is a game that you are either going to love or hate, I don't think there is any middle ground here.. Once you get use to the movement system you are going to have a hard time playing any other shooters, because they are all going to be too slow.. At least that is how it is for me..
