The word "Alienware" does not inspire me with confidence, though my experience is of their desktop models.

Yes it is quite beastly, I can't say what it's "worth" I wouldn't advise getting a gaming "laptop" (these big alienware things really aren't laptops) and if I did I really wouldn't go alienware these days tbh I deffo wouldn't pay more than 1500-2000 of your American Dollars for it (without accesories)

on a side note you've already had a thread locked, why didn't you post this in your original thread? or even better the "will my PC run this" sticky? no offence intended, just sayin'

There's actually a community tech thread http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1328500-the-community-tech-thread-no-111/; if you read down just a tiny bit you can actually talk to someone about getting help building a system.

That being said, I looked into that laptop and it looks like Dell (Dell owns Alienware, FYI) is asking $2700 USD for that thing. For that kind of money, you can build a system that would run circles around the laptop, and not have all the cooling problems that laptops have. Even if you absolutely MUST have a laptop for mobility (the vast majority of people don't) you still wouldn't want that thing because it's going to weigh a ton and it's absolutely huge.

To give you an idea, I could have a quad-SLI system running GTX 580s (real ones, not the lame mobile versions) with 16GB RAM, a Core i7 2600K, 128 GB SSD and 1TB HDD for that money. That's about 10 minutes on NewEgg (actually finding a board with the physical space for 4 big vid cards is a challenge). Alienware builds systems that give them lots of cool features to list so they can try to justify the outrageous markup of their machines. If you want mobile computer capability, do what the rest of the word does and get an iPhone. If you need mobile computing, get a lightweight laptop or an iPad.

Edit: Oh, and just to tell you: about 6-7 years ago I called Dell customer support about my laptop. That experience inspired my to learn everything I need to know about building my own machines so that I'd NEVER need to deal with that again, and I'll NEVER own anything built by Dell again.

The community tech thread is the correct place for this subject. A previous duplicate from the OP has already been locked and now there is another one as well.
