I honestly think this will be the canon ending. In previous Fallout games the good ending tends to be the one chosen. The whole game seems to be the story of the NCR trying to expand and struggling until the courier comes along and saves the day. The massive amount of NCR quest also atest to this. Aside from the NCR, the slides were the Kings live, Followers help, etc probably won't be addressed in future title but I can picture them also being the "right" ones.

I think it'll either be that or House, but honestly I'm more leaning towards NCR at this point, just because with the House ending that pretty much puts a end to any conflict around the Mojave, where if the NCR wins the story could branch out into civil war in the republic over constantly expanding, the Legion could make a come back, there's really a lot of different options that they could go with in the future where with House I just don't see a lot of potential.

I have trouble viewing the NCR winning at the dam, the entire time you see them, people complain that they are expanding to quickly and they cannot protect all of these territories. Having them take the Mojave would make light of the whole situation. I think/hope the canon ending will be House winning because it gives all factions a chance to evolve. The NCR would rethink their ways and maybe secure their existing territories, the legion would maybe rethink Caesar being a god and look at trying to reform their government, and House would get a chance to demonstrate what he can do with the economic blast furnace of New Vegas.

Basically it's what is/will be accepted as official in the fallout universe. Ex. If in the next game someone mentions the NCR winning at the dam they are the canon rulers of new Vegas.

Those two are perfect because they put everyone in their place. Legion (the bad guys) lose as they should, and NCR thinks twice about their plan for expansion and annexation of all other countries. If NCR wins, it creates the dilemma of the same faction always coming out on top.
Plus it's tough to say that NCR winning is truly "good." NCR means Colonel Moore sees a promotion, Oliver gets praise and Kimball is liked, whereas Chief Hanlon simply fades out of the spotlight, Colonel Hsu never gets recognition and Ambassador Crocker might lose his job. All the worst members of the NCR get promotions, all the better ones lose out. Sure maybe the good NCR takes over initially, but the bad NCR is the one that will have control in the future. On the flip side, if they lose the battle, Hanlon gets recognition and there's nothing stopping Hsu from advancing. Same kind of issue with Yes man; everyone is happy with his ending, but cmon, anarchy? I mean, the Brotherhood of Steel are just plain dangerous if they're allowed to survive.

Chances are the NCR ending will be canon but I doubt very much that it would be the ending were everything goes NCR's way.

I'm thinking the House or independent endings will be canon since it's hinted that yes man is reprograming himself to be more independent giving you twe endings that are essentially the same which is a pretty big hint that it's whats canon. It also leaves a lot of room for change to rapidly occure as opposed to either the NCR or Legion just continuing on as before.

I doubt that there will be an official cannon. We have yet to hear anything about the Brotherhood from the Capital Wasteland. Not even one dialogue line.

It needs to build up for the next game or for the factions to evolve/change.

I don't think that the "perfect" NCR ending is necessarily going to be canon because it's not interesting enough. If you look back at Fallout 1 and 2's canon endings, you'll see that there are some "bad" slides mixed end (IE: Necropolis being deserted). I for one, opted to kill the Vault 19 Powder Gangers, kill the Great Khans, and allow Arcade to fight at Hoover Dam.

I'm thinking (and hoping) this will be mostly the canon ending. It's actually not really much of an NCR victory, as they'll continue to overextend and weaken themselves. Furthermore, it provides for the continued survival of the Brotherhood of Steel, one of the most well-known and popular factions. Without a peace with NCR, I can't see the BoS surviving in the long run.

Although, even in the "good" ending, Veronica's ending still svcks. ;_;

Main things I could see being different are the Kings in Freeside, the existence of the Brotherhood (although I fervently hope they survive) and the continued toleration of Jacobstown, among others.

What will really happen. Everyone can t win. A story can only have 1 ending. That ending is the canon ending, to be written into the overall fo storyline.

I highly doubt Independent Vegas will be the canon ending, it's awful and makes no damn sense. Terrible execution of what could have been a great idea. It'll be either House or NCR for sure, just a question of which of the two actually prevails.

Because we already know what happened there.


If I don t know who won the mw somehow in fo4, then fo nv becomes a total waste of time.

I would hope fo4 is not on the west coast. The United States is really a big place. More than half of it has never been touched in a fo.

Father Elijah Ending will be canon.

It will be whatever fits in best with the next chapter of the story.

I can't imagine it being canon. It's not only the most boring possible ending, but I simply can't imagine the NCR winning. The NCR can't possibly hold on to the territory they have and they aren't strong enough to fend off their enemies. They won the Dam the first time, and had to fight for it again four years later. If they win again now, it'll only be a matter of time before they get challenged again. Be it by the Legion, the Great Khans, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave (they're still in Chicago, might as well be in a lot of places).

Winning Vegas will be the eventual death of the NCR, not their gain. A Legion win would be the immediate destruction of the NCR. Mr. House, as I see it, will oddly enough be the savior of the NCR. He will prevent the NCR's expansion. This seems like a bad deal for the NCR, but I really think it's best for NCR to hold on to the territory they have and not expand any further. It'll only weaken them and they will end up losing not only their newly-annexed areas, but very likely also parts of their current territory. The other thing Mr. House will do is having Vegas and the Mojave area function as a buffer between NCR and Legion territory. He'll hold off the Legion and allow NCR to regain their strength. They won't need to fear Mr. House as he is not interested in annexing NCR territory, and they'll be able to profit from his technological advance and development.

A Mr. House win is not only the most logical and most interesting ending, it's also the 'best' ending for humanity and the NCR.

I think Yes Man's will be ending. Ulysses's concept art seems to indicate that he sides with the opposite of your choice, NCR is against Legion, and vice versa. Since he can't side with Yes Man or House, his opposite to them is America. His playing card indicates that the American flag on his back is canon, hence an independent Vegas is canon. Though it could be House, he is the least popular faction. In addition, a Yes Man ending would make it so all factions could reappear in future games.
