this game needs more vices and stuff

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:00 am

im lvl 55 with about 100k and i have been really limiting what i pick up for the last 15 or so lvls because the loot salvage business was getting boring. there just isnt anything compelling me to get more, so im leaving expensive and light wieght things in dungeons out of looting boredom. the quest rewards are way out of wack too. i got 750g for walking from the herb shop to dragonsreach and back...some guy in markarth shovelling coal said thats what he makes in a week. renting a room should be more as should the carriages. ill stop there because theres too many things wrong with the cash situation in this game.

so anyways i thought this could be a list of things to be patch/dlc'd in (hopefully patched but i doubt it) to spend money on...

1. pets for your houses (that damn war dog only sticks around for a few days then i gotta buy him back...scam)

2. strippers and prosttutes (its an M rated game right?)

3. gambling

4. carnaval like games with unique collectable/practical prizes to use or decorate your house with, archery comes to mind as a simple one.

5. maybe your house could be broken into nessesitating the hireing of a doorman/security guard (a courrier could bring a note from the town guard telling u whats been stolen)

any other ideas?

I like all those....

Hmm... Being able to hire thugs? Everyone else can. I would spam them after Nazeem. I would grab some popcorn and watch that all day.

Is that a hate-crime in Skyrim? lol.

Remember those dancing girls in Suran's House of Earthly Delights cornerclub in Morrowind?

Wonder why there aren't any dancers like that at the New Gnisis Cornerclub? :stare:

(EDIT - had Gnisis and Suran mixed up for a moment. My memory of Morrowind towns is a little rusty :bonk: )

There could definatly be more simulation elements to make the whole more alive and offer random experiences.

Or, this it totally unorthodox I know, go back to guilds with more than 8 quests and allow you to progress slowly in the carreer chain, allowing you to have a guild playthrough be like a game-in-a-game. With a satisfying retirement after 35+ hours of quests solely focused on your type of character, making you less reliant on raqndom stuff to keep you entertaint.

With such a small install for xbox I don't know how much else they could have thrown in. DVDs are old tech at this point, 2 are needed for this. I'm not on xbox but wasn't la noire 2 disks? I wonder what they are going to do for the next gen.. I doubt they will adopt blu Ray.. They should. Digital download is nice and all but alot of people like a physical copy, also developers won't risk doing an all digital release. Since not everyone has a decent Internet connection. Even if they do some countries have such a high charge for amount downloaded it isn't feasible anyway.

You just gave me an idea.

Maybe Muggers that steal your money and use invisibility .. so in order to get your money back you have to of course .. kill them.

Umm.

I don't know about invisibility but having pick pockets in the game would defiantly make it more lively. Also, not just in Riften, everywhere, even on the road.

Skyrim is only a 6GB. A duel layer disc after formatting has about 8GB of space. They didn't even use all the space they had in the first place

I love people who think outside of the box.
In my game the whole of Riverwood went into the stripper business. Poor fellows must be low on funds.

Brothels, dance bars and gambling dens should be anywhere where soldiers are garrisoned.
When armies still marched across the country to their battlefield, they were followed by a caravan of prosttutes.

I also would have expected more than one tavern per city in the land of the hard-drinking Nords. Whiterun is a den of vice, having two taverns and a mead hall.

How much money you spend depends how you play. I have a level 50 guy with 140K and a level 45 guy who is broke. I don't think the game needs strippers, but it might have been good to have say a keep somewhere that cost 100K and had a few simple quests associated with it.

Personally, I don't care so much about the strippers than the ambience. Drunk men that are fleeced by scanty clad women, card sharks and shady dealings in smoky back rooms, that's the "underworld" everyone loves, not a couple of leather clad guys sitting round a bar that was literally built in the sewers.

games, in general, need to improve the creativity of interactions. meaningful activities that add depth and change the world around them. not mini-games that contribute practially nothing to my character in the game.

imo, basically, the ability to add rts,sim activities, quality mini-games, whatever creative minds can come up with and other micromanagement aspects to an rpg or action-rpg games.
