This game is svcking up my life....

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:15 am

ok now before you flame me let me explain why.

This game is taking over my life, its like a damn drug or something. And the sad part is I have not even been to half the places yet in this game. I have like 1500 saves and im guessing over 200 hours of play easy. Problem is I get kinda far with a character then I have a idea for a new one and I abandon my current one and forget about him or save over him. Also If I decide to do a glitch like the dawnstar chest I decide afterwards that now its too easy and I start over. This is the only game every that I have played that I honestly dont mind starting over on.

Currently im trying a pure assassin type build that although he might level skills outside of his field he does not spend skill points in them. Except for potion making seeing he makes poison other then that its all about the green skills for him. Have not decided if im going to boost any of the skills or not but I do know I will not be making any equipment at all. I might enchant stuff to make money but I wont be making any gear or weapons its all about what he finds (or steals, most likely steals).

Maybe I can keep this character for a little while.

We've all been there. I can't say how many times I scrapped a character because I thought to myself, "hmm, maybe I should go this route instead." Thankfully, with the PC I can use the console to start my own game wherever in Skyrim with no locations on the map and no quests in my journal. It makes for interesting beginnings without having the Dragonborn quest constantly nagging me in the back of my head.

lol I have my third character now and the first two weren't finished.
I kinda have the same problem like you.
In oblivion I had like a million characters and it seems like it will be the same here lool.
I try to keep the one I have now though ;)

yea no kidding man that's like telling a alcoholic to just stop drinking or something. Sure its the right thing to do but imagine the skyrim withdraw I would have omg no. I mean there has got to be a 12 step program or something.

He he.... agree, it is like a drug. I start playing figuring just for a few hours... like last night, started at 9pm... and suddenly found it was 4am.
USUALLY always making an Alt character.... dunno just love creating them as much as playing them, and have done so on so many other games... DA, WoW, DC Universe, etc etc
Typically try to retain the role, armors, weapons of the build.... so create another to match any other areas.
Right now have my main Thief/Assassin which I love.... and still leveling and playing... and just recently made a Mage which will be a true Mage (all robes and spells etc). Luckily have just limited it to these two... but think it is more because I am really liking both of these. If I were to make another it would be a Battle Mage.... but not until after these two.

Yep its svcks because its hooked me. Honestly I just wanted to make a thread with a cute title, I read the forums at work on my phone but cant post and read today a bunch of them crying about how its horrible because of the storyline or this or that. So thought I would make a very miss leading title then post kinda the opposite. I know im so clever right?

Just go on a binge of doing every quest, finding every location, etc. and you're sure to grow sick of it. Once you've exhausted all the surprises in Skyrim, there's nothing else to look forward to. Probably easier said than done, until a new DLC comes out.

yea I had a mage with 100% reduction on destruction spells and 90% on restoration and got rid of him seeing as I could pretty much walk around spamming fireballs all day and healing if anyone got close to me which usually never happened. This thief im making will never wear anything above leather so most likely the only 3 sets he will ever have are dark brotherhood armor, thief guild armor and nightengale armor. I will use all 3 for different things, like use assassin when im going on a assassination, thief guild when im breaking and entering and nightengale when im going in dungeons etc.

yea funny thing is I actually like doing the assassinations over and over and the thief guild things over and over. I love going to a new town and pretty much stealing everything in every house, and love chasing down other theifs that think they can come into my towns and steal stuff....how dare they try to steal on my turf. Now I admit if I play a fighter or mage I tend to get sick of it rather quickly but if im a thief I tend to always find something to do.

I know what you mean OP. I could be level 40 and I don't care if I had to restart another build. I might miss my previous build a little bit.

Your post title was misleading at first lol.

Big hint: Start deleting saves.

Eventually, if you have too many saves, they corrupt and although you save the game, it doesn't actually happen. I've been caught out a couple of times like this, and lost a few hours playing. After F3 and FNV I religiously stuck to using clean saves, but you need to delete earlier ones just as fanatically in Skyrim.

Hey, Hey HEY! Let's be reasonable here.

Man thats one nice machine you're running for the game,is it nice on three screens at 5760? watercooled? 4.6 standard? I live downunder so prices are extreme if you're not in the game.

i chose to put my life on hold for three to four months to play with unequivocal fervour and learn when the ck comes out how to mod at beginners level.

Well I just realized how awesome some of the lock picking skills are. My thief is gonna max out all the thief skills and he is just gonna steal everything he can.
