Is this a glitch?

Okay, so the caravan members and I dispatched about 5 White-Legs; all before crossing the bridge. A couple of guards bit the dust but the other characters were left. they remained cowering and wouldn't talk. I went across the bridge and killed one more.

Then I met Follows-Chalk. (By the way, he was standing around a bend and I almost bumped into him. I got locked into conversation immediately. I don't see how anyone could shoot him.) He told me there were still White-Legs left. I couldn't find any so I just left the caravan and went adventuring with him.

If this is a glitch, does it matter. Is anyone from the original caravan supposed to follow you across the bridge?

I played through it twice on Very Hard (I died and forgot to save. Stupid giant geckos) and all of them were mowed down pretty much instantly.

Well I was able to save a couple but I guess it was a wasted effort, eh? they don't seem to play a part in the quest.

He's supposed to come up behind the shooter on the rock and kill him. I'd guess you killed the shooter faster than the 2 seconds before Chalky appears, hence he's just waiting for you. Problem is the shooter shoots before you halfway across the bridge so people open fire and Chalky pops up, gets friendly fire, turns red, all in the blink of an eye. I didn't know he was supposed to be friendly at all, just thought he was a buddy of the shooter.

The caravan people are pretty much scripted to die, I think. If you're fast you can save them I suppose, but they're nothing to do with the rest of the game.

Thanks!

When he told me there were more bad guys (and there weren't) I was afraid that whatever might have been triggered by killing them would never happen. Now that I know it doesn't matter, I can get on with the game.

Strange...

Someone told me the caravan members are scripted to have their heads blow up no matter what.

So, if they're still alive, that is a glitch.

Not sure if it will effect gameplay though.

On a side note: your avatar is giving me the creeps.

Yeah. that's what the Wiki says, too. It's possible the White Leg that was supposed to finish them off spawned inside a rock. when I got back at the end of the game, only the dead guards were left.

That's my OB character. I've been playing that until the DLC came out. Beth only allows one avatar for all the forums.

Since there's no replay value to HH, I'll probably go back until Skyrim comes out.
