I was so frustrated that I could not work out how to make funny animals like a blue frost troll or a yellow dragon, without replacing EVERY animal of that type with the same texture.

Now I have discovered how to do that, I made a video, because it's a fun little thing to do and trying to work it out on your own by bugging more expereinced modders is not fun.

The video assumes a bit of knowledge, but I thought I would share it for those of you keen to make tiny white mammoths, without making all mammoths tiny and white.

Great video, very usefull. Perhaps a nice addition would be how to set which type of ingredient can be harvested from the custom animals?

This can be done in a relatively straightforward way. Under their basic traits you'll see a DeathItem slot. Find the appropriate deathitemm, make a new form for it, and add/delete whatever you want.

If anyone wants to show me how to make an animal into a follower, I might turn that into a video too!
