Do the work for contrerreas(supply guy at camp mc carron). Then when you finish running his errands he will give it to ya

Or rat out the said "supply guy" to Boyd at one point of that quest branch.

I have a Serious problem
*spoilers* not sure how to use it

I can't get boyd or contreas to show up anything in dialogue I spoke to the ranger and decided to turn him in but boyd or contreas have an option to tell them what happened resulting in me not getting "This Machine"

The way I took it, is there are alot of glitches assoiciated with Contreras's side of those quests. They worked fine for me, but I'm sure you have to kill the NCR Ranger, or Contreras won't give up the gun when you return.

i had to kill the ranger and then the option to just tell contreas that the ranger agreed to work with him came up so i picked that and he just gave me the gun. you could try going back and killing the ranger. as far as i know it wont decrease your NCR rep. atleast it didnt with me.

The quickest way is to hack contreas terminal, then just bring the prove to boyd to get the gun.

Don't know how to help you there. I just shot the mouthy Ranger in the face.
