This may work for some..

I was having major freezing issues in the game. I was at the point where I couldn't play longer than half an hour without a total freeze. I decided to purchase a DVD/Bluray/CD cleaning disc. It cleans the laser lens as it spins in the drive. Anyway, after I used it, the game has NOT FROZE SINCE. not even in instances where there is a lot happening on the screen. i am not saying this will work for everyone, but if you have never cleaned your bluray player, i'd recommend it. I called Sony and wanted to get their opinion on this. The first person I spoke to said not to use those cleaning discs, but when I spoke to a supervisor, he said it's a good idea to do once in awhile. So there you go.

You might have a point. I use an air duster to clean my ps3 atleast once a week and I don't seem to freeze nearly as much as some other people. Also when I bought my ps3, I covered it in plastic wrap and cut holes in the back for the cables and vent, and a hole in the front for the disc so dust doesn't settle or drift into it.

except I've seen posts about people replacing their systems because NV busted there's, only to have their new system still have the same issues with the game.
