i cant cast spells. ive altered the key mapping and i tried everything. please help what command should i map to what key? thanks in advance.

If you're on the PC, hit escape key and look at the bottom left corner of the screen. There should be a button you can push to set the keys to default. You may have to go to the "settings" page before you see that, can't remember.

If you're not on the PC, there should be something similar on the other platforms?

Then you can start anew from there.

This might sound obvious, but did you go into the magic menu and click on a spell to cast? On the pc this is accessed by [tab] and magic is on the left side. If you click on the spell with the left mouse button you will cast with your right hand, if you click with right it casts with left hand. Click twice and you cast with both. If you press f with a spell highlighted it will favorite it, and when you leave the menu you can press q and assign a hotkey number to the spells you like.

I had a problem casting spells when I started out. I had the spell loaded but when I clicked the button nothing happened. Then one day I found by accident that if I held the button down the spell would fire after a very short while.

if you are on a PC keys only select your spells.. you need to hold mouse buttons down to use the spell.. sometimes for a few seconds
