This is ridiculous..

Apologies if the nature of this post may sound redundant, but in truth, I just needed somewhere to vent out my anger and note how many
other forumers may be experiencing the same thing. Basically, I pre-ordered from Gamestop WITH express shipping, and it's momentarily 5:33PM In Toronto, yet zilch.
Not a single notification as to why my delivery was delayed, or why it still says "Open" status on the pre-order page. I'm going to have to pick the game up, but it astonishes me how they can be so incompetent as to not even NOTIFY me. Heck, I even had earlier suspicions that they would pull something like this..I even made an older thread about why it still flaunted an "Open" status 3 days before release.

Moral of the story for me? Don't pre-order at all, or just not from Gamestop.

Anyone else indirectly or directly screwed by whomever they've pre-ordered from?

I pre-ordered and won't get it until tomorrow I also got express shipping, but today is a holiday to respect our vets, so they wouldn't ship ANYTHING out today it's still a holiday man, so no mail what-so-ever, it svcks that they "had" to ship it on a holiday though :verymad:

 But of coarse! Thanks for the reminder mate, I personally don't mind so long as it is a day, seeing as I have the SWTOR beta to keep me occupied.

I preordered with Gamestop, went to the store at 12:00AM, went to the back of the line, and walked out the store with the game in hand at 12:30. I never trust a driver (post office/UPS/Fedex) other than myself.

I never ordered anything from Gamestop.

I pre-ordered my Skyrim with same day delivery (99 cents) from Amazon. And it was delivered today.

So maybe try Amazon next time?

This is why I preorder at the store. Then I pay it off early. Then I go to the store the day it releases and I go pick it up.

Understood. You could have a point. However did you pre-order with release day delivery? A pre-order by itself does not mean release day delivery.

As I recall I only ordered two game from Amazon US with same day delivery - Skyrim, and Fallout 3 (I think) and both arrived on the release day.

But if you did specifically buy release day delivery and are not getting it until next week, then that is something I've never experienced from Amazon and a disappointment. (But just to emphasize, a pre-order by itself does not mean release day delivery).

I pre-ordered but picked mine up in person. I wouldn't want to wait for the mail with a game I've anticipated this much. :spotted owl:

No idea it twas a gift :P

Most likely wasn't, still I was kinda expecting them to ship it out before the end of the day... I'm used to Amazon always being surprisingly quick not the opposite. (You'd think they could have shipped it out early when they got it to have it arrive on time since we know they were sitting on the games waiting to release em)

Really doesn't matter either way as I'm too busy to play even if I had it now :(

... also wow CD sure is dead today can't imagine why :tes:

It still states that my order is verifying, and won't let me cancel. I've researched that this could be commonly due to them already sending the material, and occurs often with very popular/high profile games. I'm not getting my hopes raised for tomorrow, I've sent an email, and I want to cancel if it is not by my door sometime Sunday. I've specifically ordered from ebgames.ca, has anyone received their copy from them yet? Or any gamestop for that matter?

Interesting. I've never had a problem with them and pre-orders.

I pre-order at the store well in advance and reserve the collectors edition usually.

They have my cell phone number so they send me a text the day before it's going to be released and my copy is waiting for me when I show up.

I've been burned by every single mail pre-order I've ever placed so I quit doing it.

Edit - I should clarify, I've never pre-ordered with gamestop online.

I forgot the last game I pre-ordered, but they were prompt, and even called me that it was ready.

That might have been...Grandia III.

I only pre-order things from Amazon because they have release day shipping for only $1. I don't care too much about pre-order bonuses.
