Flying mounts diminish the feel and size of the world that is one of the things Skyrim does have (still..) not to mention your not suppose to see past the invi walls and if you could fly up you could easily see past them.
Cause they thought it would be game breaking and make very little sense, lore-wise...A good decision on their part, I'd say.
I don't know the lore well. Why doesn't it work? We can call one to fight for us. One that was willing to take us somewhere doesn't seem too far from that. Or are both of those kind of against the lore?
I wouldn't use it, i would make the world feel too small.
i agree, they made the world really detail so that you can explore it and never get bored, however flying a dragon could replace the useless map that we were given, i can't see anything in that thing, it's horrible
Ah Drakkan, I remember the Ancients Gate, it was the first and only Drakkan I have played. And also the last game I have played where I could mount a dragon and fight on dragon back either while flying or on the ground.
TES dragons are too intelligent for riding, they are not just mindless beasts
Tavern wenches are sentient too but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI9ZgzxIfOM if you've got the coin. Just find a dragon with bdsn fetish and here you go.
