I'm trying to get ready to make a crapload of invisibility potions, and lunar moths just aren't wanting to be near me. Very annoying. I'm getting ready for the Thieve's Guild quest Hard Answers, and these moths, they just don't understand that their death is for a slightly good cause! I shall be wasting time finding them and their wings some more...

Edit: Meant to say Luna Moths...

They appear from 8 PM to 11 PM. Not the whole night.

Best places are the fields just outside Whiterun, near Rorikstead. Wherever you see Butterflies during the day, Luna Moths will be there at night.

You don't necessarily need Luna Moth Wings. The list of ingredients which make an invisibility potion are as follows:

• Chaurus Egg
  
• Luna Moth Wing
  
• Nirnroot
  
• Vampire Dust
  
• Ice Wraith Teeth
