You should not only dislike the High Elves (Altmer) but also the Wood Elves of Valenwood (Bosmer).
They joined the Thalmor to form the 2nd Aldmeri Dominion. Later on the Khajiit joined because the Thalmor brought back their twin moons that disappeared. I can forgive the Khajiit for that but the Bosmer I cannot.

Also, I was thinking, to those who play as Redguard, you can't really pick a side in Skyrim's civil war can you? The empire renounced Hammerfell and even offered some of its land to the Thalmor in the White-Gold Concordat. And The stormcloaks are just as supremacist as the Thalmor.

The Thalmor is an organization, I'm not going to hate all members of a race just because I dislike their government.

altmer/bosmer != Thalmor. Thalmor = Thalmor.

Plenty of altmer/bosmer fled the area when the thalmor seized control.

And I don't see the stormcloaks genociding all other races like the thalmor. Not a very apt comparison. The redguards of Hammerfell are probably fine with them.

What I was gonna say.

The Bosmer are more invaded and subdued than part of the Thalmor. play the MQ, FFS.

Also, for Redguards, just because their leaders believe one way, doesn't mean every individual does. This even applies to Nords, High King Torygg obviously had faith in the Empire, but not everyone else did coughUlfriccough

Not every High Elf and Wood Elf agree with Thalmor.
