A Though I Had

Post » Sun Jul 08, 2012 2:34 am

Okay so the recent DLC "Dawnguard" gave us Vampire transformations. A very cool idea that was brought into the game that appealed to an even wider audience. Although how far can we stretch the transformation idea? I know many of you would hate to see another transformation, while others might love it. Though hear me out, because this idea could work.

-Dragonborn Transformation-

This idea does not have to be DLC, it can be something extra. Many people want dragon mounts, being able to turn into a dragon etc. Though we have concluded that as of right now the sky boundaries hinder us from this dream. Although what about a transformation that the dragon born can utilize because of his DRAGON BLOOD? Maybe turn into a small Drake like dragon, or something more creative that the art team can come up with.

I believe that this is possible because it follows the games theme, the perk tree can be added because of the Dawnguard expansion, and the game mechanics can support it. The idea can be cool if utilized properly, and the creative directers execute it flawlessly.

-Further Ideas-

Elder scroll of the dragon, using it for the DLC to turn into one/ Transformation.

Your Dragon soul is the source of the power.

Or dragon blood.

Discuss, and please. If you have any ideas, please share.

A dragon mount is already present in Dawnguard. You can also flap around/levitate when you're a vampire.

What dragon mount? I don't see it anywhere in the game currently.

Not feelin the magic... He has dragon blood but I doubt he can turn into one but.... With werewolfs you have beast blood and that makes you a beast! Maybe your idea could work for argonians?

To be honest.. That sounds rather silly. Your described as a mortal with the body of a man/mer and the soul/blood of a dragon. Not much more to it.

Well, it is a game. So the lore can evolve, look at Oblivion when martin took the form of akatosh.

Also the vampires before Dawn guard were pointless to be, then poof. A DLC then you are a Vampire god, so I think that your dragon soul could be utilized in a transformation like MArtin did in Oblivion.

I played Dawnguard and I didn't come across it or anyhting that implied there was one

As for the turning into a dragon thing: The whole thing about being Dragonborn is that you are a dragon in the body of a mortal. Kinda ruins that part of your identity if you suddenly become a dragon in a dragonbody.

Makes it seem more realistic feasible now that you mentioned that. Except for the fact that he sacrificed himself in order to become that fiery bird-dragon. Don't see how that would work out for us...

Well there could be some added lore, something that allows you too. Perhaps the elder scroll of the dragon?

Dragon mounts is the last item on a laundry list of improvements of additions I would love to see make there way into Skyrim...plus, the inability to fly into cities without hitting a loading screen would ruin it

Well after the Dawnguard quest you see that you cannot do anything with your Elder scroll of the Dragon. As far as I know that IS all you can do with them, though perhaps the Dragon scroll leads you tto the secret of unlocking the Dragon transformation.
