I thought we actually killed Alduin...

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:29 am

So here I was, bangin' out some Dark Brotherhood beginners' quests, suddenly I see a dragon. "no big deal" I thought to myself, "I'll just kill it like I do EVERY dragon." So I'm making my way over, then I see a second come out of the ground. "hmm, weird." I thought. "2 for 1, I'll take it". So I use Dragonrend on the first one. Nothing happens. So I move in a little bit closer, and this is what I see: jclay1@mix.wvu.edu

So it begs the question: What in the blue hell is Alduin doing in Skyrim when I killed him in Sovngarde?!!?

Do you use Deadly Dragons? I think it has a high level 'aspect of Alduin' encounter possibility.

Hurray for scripted events.

Sometimes I think there's just some sort of deep flaw with how the game handles NPCs. On more than one playthrough, I've seen a certain someone sitting at the table in Jorrvaskr after finishing the Companions questline.

Another prime example of why I feel there is something wrong with how the game handles NPCs. Others include the notorious dead bodies at the wedding and people following you into your house. Another thing that makes me pause and scratch my head in Jorrvaskr is that I'll talk to people in the basemant, then run up stairs to find those same people already seated at the table.

How about any humanoid enemy making generic npc comments, e.g. when you die and drop your weapon the human enemy who killed you will often make the same comment a regular npc will say when you drop some trash on the ground. It's really absurd and adds more to your point.

Also at a non player wedding the mother of the groom showed up dead which was hilarious. (yes I killed her about 75 play hours before the wedding)

Talk to the Grey Beards after the main quest.

Ask: "Is Alduin really dead?" Answer: "No, probably not."

Oh well, at least you postponed the inevitable for some other time in the future.
