An thought of Dead Money ending.

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:03 pm

Something I can't help is thinking about Dean Domino's ending when he lives. Wouldn't it have been cooler if Obsidian added Dean Domino as a headlining act at The Tops? I mean, he's got posters of him ALL over, and the ending does mention he'd likely make his way to Vegas, I think it would have been a marvelous idea if Obsidian added an extra dialogue line of 'You know, if you're looking to get back into your old life. The Tops could always use a singer of your caliber.' or something to that affect.

Anywho, just pointing an interesting idea.

Well, one of the side effects (I've noticed) that humans go through in the process of ghoulification is that their voice noticeably changes and aquires a lower, scratchy tone. Frankly, I'm not sure if Dean can still sing.

Actually, as crudely as Carolina was pointing out, Dean's voice, perhaps due to Sierra Madres unique environment, is largely unchanged, if at all changed.

Also, I just noticed I forgot to delete that n in an. Curse my oversight :cryvaultboy: (I was originally going to title this as 'An afterthought on Dead Money Ending', but as I've not played it but know the whole plot and etc, I felt it'd be more accurate to call it thought)

Dean isn't the only ghoul who retained his voice, there's been a couple more in FO3 and NV. Forgot who..

Who would want to hear Dean Domino sing? It would probably sound like nails on a chalkboard.

WOW you guys let that annoying jerk live. I could not stand him from second one. I shot him down like a dog and dismembered his worthless butt. I spread his worthless parts around the theater and then shot those parts with 1000 308 round laughing like a crazy person while I did it.

What was the point of letting him live did I miss something. He thought he was the alpha and the omega he learned in the end that he was not and his killer was.

Did i miss out on something by letting his dumb butt live? Hell if you kill him he gives up his suit. I sometimes pull out that suit and shoot 1000 bullets into it and laugh just to relive the experience.

Why do you think that just out of curiosity?
I mean from the very beginning he acted like a grade A jerk. He tried to ruin Sinclair for no other reason than jealousy. He used Vera like two dollar [censored] and fed her addiction just to pull a successful man down to his level. He could not be happy with his own success and had to make it his mission to pull Sinclair down from his pedestal for no other reason than he was a hater of people he thought were better than him.
He tried to use you as his little errand boy having no clue on the destroyed earth as to how skilled or trained you were and how far you had come prior to being there.
He was a grade A piece of crap that deserved everything he got in my game.
What about him did you find as a redeeming quality?

Basically why do you find womanizing haters cool

I may have a hording problem but I try to fight the good fight in the FNV wasteland. I found Dean to be a womanizing hater who was only out for himself and damn anyone else. He was an evil man who received the same justice any evil man gets when he crosses my path in the wasteland.

I killed him. Both times. Then reloaded on the 2nd time and let him live just to see what his ending would say.

I think it would have been awesome to get him in Vegas, but again....... These are the consequences of all the choices.

I played through dead money only once and only saw one sequence of events so my opinion may be very limited.
Christine was my least favorite. She was delusional, annoying as hell to talk to, and just a general ass.
Dean may have been an ass but atleast he was entertaining and you could actually talk to him.
Dog/God is my favorite and I genuinely cared about helping him, probably my favorite companion. I ended up killing them all due to low speech skill.

I have a more interesting thought on the Dead Money ending(s). It seems that while playing through Dead Money, it was designed to be the first DLC pack players would encounter (since it was the only one for a long, long time) and teased the other upcoming DLCs both in the conversations, as well as the endings. But since NV is a non-linear game, it stands to reason that by the time all the DLC are released, we would be able to play them in any order. When that happens, I hope that those who own all the DLC will get updates to the previous ones which takes this into account. It could be pretty interesting to start a new character, and tackle Old World Blues before Dead Money. If so, what sort of new dialogue options would there be when talking to Christine and Elijah about the Big Empty? What do you guys think?

I would really be disappointed if he turned out to become a useless NPC in Vegas, idly standing in The Aces. I would really like to have him as a companion in the Mojave. After all the work you have to do to not piss him off, it seems fair to recruit him once again in Vegas.
