I thought of an interesting game idea.

What if there was a game, that shifted from say, third person Mario like things, like Samus, but got better, then allowed more freedom in third, but shifted the camera level. Then, first person, and the graphics and the overall gameplay would improve over levels, I just think it would be cool to shift from the old gaming style, that still is very much alive, to new, first personosity.

I make up words.

What would you people like to see in a game?

So, what would you... do... in this game?

So what you're saying is:

Level 1: 8-bit side-scroller
Level 2: 16-bit side-scroller
Level 3: 3-D side-scroller
Level 4: 3-D third person view
Level 5: 3-D first person view
etc..

Right?

It does sound interesting, but that's actually mixing a bunch of genres, and it's sorta been done before. There are games which switch around like that, for example, that James Bond game where it switches from first to third person shooter per level. And then there was that one on PS2 which was primarily 3rd person, but had a few levels in which you're driving.

What you're talking about is chronological progression, which is cool, but I think it's too much work, and won't be worth it. You'd have to have several different engines and several teams of artists.

I think it would be perfect for a Sonic or Mario game... Playing through the characters history.
