My thoughts from playing at the expo

Was at the Eurogamer event on saturday, queued for ages to get a play of brink but it was well worth it.

It felt smooth, dynamic and the controls handled really well, the SMART button is very well done and easily activated when you need it most, the level design was great and even though it was a dark and dingy container filled scrapyard it still felt well lit and everything on screen was easily visable.

Using the SMART button in my view was essential, very few people were using it apparently but me and my mate who both went 57-22 (weird) used it all the time to get ourself out of tricky situations and led the resistance to victory, i played as engineer and he played as soldier, both classes seemed pretty good however i finished with a massive amount of XP compared to him because of the buffs, he hardly got any for giving out ammo.

One idea we thought of was to subtly highlight places which could be climbed or vaulted when you got near them, sometimes i found myself trying to climb containers which i couldnt, i suppose its not a big deal atall though because as you learn the maps when the game is released this wont be a big issue anymore.

Overall i really enjoyed playing brink and was kinda bummed out when i had to get off, everything is well presented and the game plays like a dream, all i have is praise for this game and the developers and its a definate purchase on release day, most importantly it was fun and different, this game is going to blow everyone away.

A quick question for anyone who knows: Will there be any kind of clan support/ party system for playing with friends?

Also its made in bromley which is 10mins from me which is nice, well played to anyone involved in the making of brink.

it could be you couldn't climb those containers because they were too high, remember a medium bodybuild can only climb stuff that's eye-height.

Glad you enjoyed playing the game.

We should have more details on matchmaking with friends closer to release.

I went to the Expo on Sunday, only queued for 30mins lol.

Brink was better than I had hoped it would be. Kinda played like COD/BC2 which is a good thing. But I like the buffering, heath and weapon buffering was a nice touch.
Lol I had Richad Ham crouched on my right helping me out XD - The dude helped me win the game for my squad!

Like I have said before, Brink will be Epic.

as far as i dislike cod and bad company, i must say it's easier to aim in those games than in several others.
on the other hand, battlefield 2 aimed just like those and it's quite a bit older.

When you say it "played" similarly, you mean the controls felt as smooth? Or it was similar to playing CoD, but it looked different and had some buffs/parkour?
