I enjoyed the first roughly 1/4 of the games plot, but after that it seemed to go too fast, or not into enough detail, especially in Subway town and the resistance missions. Overall the plot had great potential, especially with the different bandits (perhaps base a multiplayer deathmatch as bandit wars?), and the authority, which I might add, could have been portrayed more tyranical in the start of the game, potentially killing a small town or the such you got to know well? something that would want you to virtually hate them depending on how much you connect with a game. I hope Rage 2, which I plan on getting, no matter what, will prove to have a more compelling and deep plot, as well as more missions and a better legends co-op. That brings me to the legends of the wasteland, a brilliant idea, but, I think it could of been a lot better. The length and amount of legends worries me, their too short, and could use some more unique stories, ones that you truely heard about in the campaign. The legends co-op should be expanded to support 4-players, and also a horde mode kind of gameplay, which would add much more replay value.
Vehicles to me was an interesting twist for a fps, I have to say it could be better, but once you get used to it it doesn't feel clunky, just natural. Online racing is great, I love it, its something I wouldn't buy in a game, but package it in a fps and I'll play it, but I was dissapointed with the lack of a deathmatch system. There is nothing wrong with trying something new with road rage, but I say keep both of them, appeal to everyone. I challenge you now ID, to make Rage 2, or even Rage with proper DLC, a good game, with great gameplay, great plot, great diversity, superb graphics running at 60fps, and a multiplayer that we can choose between racing, and shooting.
Even with these flaws, I would happily give Rage a 10/10, it's a great game, and it has even more potential to be the best game, a game that could topple Gears, Fallout, and maybe even CoD, and I hope to see sequels.
