Thoughts on yielding?

Is it too predictable? Does it need tweaking?
Your character yields by sheathing his weapon; citizens and guards may accept it but do bandits and thieves?

Enemies yield and your follower shows them no mercy and executes them every single time. Yet when your follow yields they are left alone 100% of the time.
Shouldn't this should be varied a little bit?

If I'm not mistaken, most bandits/thieves don't accept yields unless you initially persuaded the thief, or possibly if you're apart of the Thieves Guild - but definitely not bandits. And I agree, I think it should somewhat be varied and/or altered. I dislike the fact that literally almost every bandit that yields decides to change their mind - or maybe they're simply trying to fool you, but in any case, companions/followers don't fall for it. I do however wish followers weren't ignored when downed/yielding - I think I'd be a bit more cautious about the safety of my companion.

I just wish that when the bandit ran away or cowered saying "No More" or whatever, that the battle would end at that point. I mean, do I have to kill them because they made a poor career choice?

At least the Bandits do not always come after you if you get near their camps, they just let you know there will be a battle.

We have to hope for a mod that provides more realistic AI.

IMO no, you are dragonborn not some weak priest of forgiveness. YOU KILL [censored]ES.

Or at least I am, I mean they attacked first right?

Thoughts?

Could have gone somewhere but didin't, stops short....like alot of things unfortunately.the only way the yielding in terms of NPC's vs me is even remotely satisfying is when I'm playing a hardass who's like "Get up and fight! do not die on your knees", as I slowly walk around the staggering opponent, and then when they charge me I cut their heads off ftw.
