So I was on my way to Valthume after getting a "letter from a friend" and just before I get there I run into some bandits. I quickly dispose of them and decide to take the Bandit Chief with me as my dead thrall. So away we go and enter Valthume's Vestibule. Did something there, don't want to spoil, and then enter Valthume itself. So right after the loading screen I hear a human voice, "Look what we have here" and I take damage. I turn to see my dead thrall Bandit Chief has come back to life and is attacking me. He didn't have that blue effect on him like my other thralls in the past.

Has this happened to anyone else? I figure it is a bug.

Thought it was kind of funny so I killed him and raised him again. Hopefully there is a nice trap I can lead him into.

EDIT: So I go back into the game after posting this and continue on in the dungeon and during the very first fight he attacks me again. This time he still has the blue effect of dead thrall on him. I know I never hit him as he was still trying to catch up when I took out the first Draugr. Damn Bandit Chief, guess I can't count on him as my dead thrall. Killed him and left him there to rot.

Could there be something in the dungeon that is turning him against me or just a bug?

Most of the thralls that I have lost come back to attack me eventually.

This happened to me as well. I fast travelled to windhelm and there was a vampire ther, that I brought back to life a long time ago.

Have we found a way to normally resurrect people?!

I must research this and revive all the Dead Khajiit!


Edit : poop, they'd probably have to be alive in the first place for them to be alive + not a Zombie


I have found it!

-Sometimes killing a thrall inside a location, then leaving and returning to the location, the thrall that was killed may be alive and hostile upon returning.

Now i just have to find the way to make them not Hostile anymore

I finished up the quest I mentioned and had a Draugr Scourge revenant, but I thought he died when I exited the dungeon (saw the ash pile). So I FT to Markarth and there was a Draugr Scourge waiting for me and attacked. Don't know if it was the same one or not.
