Is time going on ?

Hello everybody !
I've come across a question:

Is time around Tamriel goes on ?
For example , is it possible to live a whole year or two in the game and it will actually write that a year passed ?

You can see time, day and year if you press the wait-button. And yes, if you play long enough the year will be changed.

Im pretty sure, anyway.

Sure, you can see the date in your journal. Alduin attacks Helgen on 17th of Last Seed, 4E 201.

The game default is 20:1. It takes about 72 minutes of real time for a full game day (24 hours) to pass. So, to be in the game a year, it would take about 438 hours of real time.

Of course you could use the Fast Travel or Wait/Rest Options to make the in game year go by faster real time.

If you're on the PC, you can make time go even much faster by opening the console and typing

set timescale to 3000000

(default is 30)

(any ridiculously large number of your choice is possible, for examples' sake, I just added a bunch of 0's to the default)

You can make one year pass in a matter of minutes. :P

NPCs have weekly schedules. It would be cool with holidays thou.

There was? I though it was only in Daggerfall. What were the special days in Morrowind?

I can't recall them right now , I remember I saw there were holidays , I may be wrong I'm not really sure..

On the other side of the coin if you are on PC you can use the "SetTimeScale To" console command to whatever you desire. I usually set mine to "9".

It was Daggerfall that had various Holidays. Various holidays had various effects. On some Holidays, Taverns wouldn't charge you rent for a room. On others, Temples would offer Healing/Curing services for free. On other holidays, shops would offer a discount. Plus, the Mages Guild and Temples would let you summon a Daedra Prince if you were a high enough rank on Holidays. When it came to Daedric Prince Summoning though, finding a Witches Coven was much better, as they let you summon any day.

I wonder if there's a max year, meaning does the years stop changing after awhile or can you play for many real years and reach the year 1000 and beyond

From a technical standpoint, there has to be a hard cap. From a practical standpoint, you could probably play the game for hundreds of years (real time) and not reach the cap.

Do you mean that you can scale the time down ?
Can you explain please how to do it ?

I was a super nerd when I started to play Oblivion and noticed that some times during certain months that the shops would open later then normal so I googled the months and holidays and this is what I found.
Morning star- January, 1st and 15th are holidays
Sun's dawn-February, 16th is a holiday
Rain's hand- April,28th is a holiday
Second seed- May,7th is a holiday
Mid year- June,16th is a holiday
Sun's height- July,10th and 20th are holidays
Last seed- August,27th is a holiday
Heartfire- September,3rd is a holiday (4th is my personal B-day in game and RL :biggrin: )
Frost fall- October- 13th and 30th are holidays
Sun's dusk- November,20th is a holiday
Evening star- December, 15th and 30th are holidays
Weather or not this carried over from Oblivion-Skyrim I don't know and I haven't really noticed either. :shrug:

i'd definitely go with the ultra glide you don't want it rusting your ball bearings and crank shaft also check the flux capacitor
