I understand what people say tthat some quests would make sense with time limits, but I think it's better the way they've done it here (and that they do in most complex RPGs, for that matter). I can imagine nothing worse than getting your character to a certain point, then hitting the main quest, being forced to progress rapidly - then finding yourself blocked by a fight that's just too hard for you - while realising that if you had time, you would have been able to develop some other skill that would have given you the edge you needed to have a chance.
And for sure, like many things, if people want to roleplay a time limit for certain quests in their own game, there's nothing stopping them.
