With RTCW and ET:QW, I learned my way around by playing support (medic or engie) and looking for people who looked like they knew what they were doing. As with ET:QW, I've totally given up on the bots as is -- they're just too... weird.
Problem is, it just ain't working this time around. The vast majority of the online games I've played, we've been full-held at the first objective or steamrolled into oblivion. Buffs, revives, even my turrets and mines aren't making a lick of difference. The only online match I've ever been on the winning side was the first one, on the day after release.
So: Time to change gears. This game is way too fun to give up now.
I'm looking for recommendations for a non-hardcoe, freelancer-type guy who only maybe has a sporadic hour or two a night to get practice and learn the maps and strategies. My aim's mediocre and hasn't gotten any better in the past decade, so I'm probably going to be doing support roles a lot, and I'm fine with that.
Ways to tweak to the bots? Particular aspects of the challenges to focus on (I know, there aren't many, but still...)?
