When a farmer with a family chases a wounded dragon to the hills outside a village wielding nothing but an iron dagger, that's not bravery; it's stupidity. Commoner types should prioritize getting themselves and their kin into their homes and letting the guards and adventurers deal with the dragon.

Bethesda really needs to change the NPC AI, so that only AI and 'aggressive' NPCs should participate in a fight. All other NPCs should be 'non-aggressive' with some type of 'threat level' or something, to decide when, if ever, they start to fight. No non-aggressive NPC should ever fight a Dragon. They should run to a 'safe area' like their home or an inn.

I know right, once. An NPC stole my dragon kill by jumping on its head and slaying it with a rusty iron dagger...

not sure i'd classify a structure made of wood as a 'safe area' with fire breathing dragons flying around. LOL

Common attitude, had an npc in Morrowind, an low level escaped slave with no weapon and armor, we passed an boss level enemy who ignored us as we was to far away, however the naked argonian attacked the boss, running so he blocked my line of fire all the way up the monster who killed him in one hit.

Panicked humans arn't known for making *wise* decisions ;) - By the same token theres been plenty of incidents of people trying to save people from a significant threat (Like a tiger or polar bear) using their bare hands... it rarely turns out well mind you, but they do it. A dragon is a bit bigger than anything we're familiar with, but if people'll try take on the biggest predators our world contains who's to say they wouldn't throw themselves at a dragon anyway? ;p
