Tired of the issues

Whatever happened to the days when you bought a game and it worked as intended from the start?

I am sorry, i can't even FIND Skyrim on my PC, due to this steam garbage i am FORCED into. i am no computer programer, i will NOT load this mod, change that file to play some game i had such high hopes for. the game is great. The UI and camera views are garbage. I either look at the back of my head or crawl on the ground. It is annoying to the point i don't even want to play it anymore.
There is probally a fix somewhere, but you have to be a computer engineer to figure it out. so i bought another $60 coaster, my 1st and last TES. I imagiane it's a great game, but untill i go to college to figure out how to fix this pos i paid $60 for, my coffee cup has a new home.

Sorry for the rant, but as i look thru the fourms i see to many issues and *fix this here, change this line to that etc, etc. it makes me wonder why they even bothered to release this.

Perhaps I've just been lucky, but Skyrim generally has performed very well, save a CTD in Bonechill Passage and repeating crashes outside Markarth. For the most part though, It's been relatively hassle free (I also despise forced Steam).
  • Skyrim's location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim
  • 1'st Person FOV: Add these lines to the [Display] section of C:\Users\Documents\My Games\Skyrim.ini. Default camera is way too tight.
    • fDefault1stPersonFOV=90.0000
    • fDefaultWorldFOV=90.0000
    • fDefaultFOV=90.0000
  • 3'rd person camera: You can scroll out with mouse wheel and/or center the camera by adding/editing the below in the [Camera] section of the aforementioned .ini:
    • fOverShoulderPosX=0
    • fOverShoulderPosZ=0
It really is a great game though and, with a little effort, can be customized to better suit your tastes. You'll find there are plenty of knowledgeable people here who will be willing to help should you decide to stick with it.

Well, I had problems with games since I used to play in my old Goldstar FC-200 MSX back in the 80s. Now at least I can fix them ;) .
