Last rumors I heard at work (Gamestop):
PSN will be down until the end of May.
Reasons: Updating security
Secondary reason: Prevention methods for Firmware flashing/custom mod emulation, etc.
Final rumor: PSN is going to start charging per month to 'afford' security.
PSN is cracking down on pirates?

Lol. I don't have a PS. I got a PSN name set up for a PSP which I sold for profit. The company has been nothing but trouble for me, constant downs, limitless waiting on simple things. Getting a promo code that you type in on system , to get a new code to type in on computer, to get a third code to activate on the system, etc. Just maximum redundancy.

XBL FTW. Sure I pay <$5/month (they always seem to have deals on, 40% off, etc) but I get points to buy game cards (GameStop powerup rewards member) and I work at GameStop so I can always pick one up before I head home.

Lesee what else can you do for $5 a month? Not much.. maybe catch a movie (not new, not 3D, with no snacks) or buy 1 cup of coffee or like a gallon of gas. ... or play for hundreds of hours online.

yup. $5 is worth it, seems to cover the security aspect too, something the PSN has a major issue in, maybe because it's FREE? lolz.
