I figured I'd add this for a break from all the Skyrim talk.
Come on people have a sense of humor!

I would say he is closer to the Greek god. He is like Hercules, not quite a god but he has to be some how related. Maybe he is a Buddha?

I don't even have a really good idea of what, exactly, Howard likes to see in video game design nor do I fully understand his personal influence on the games I love and how it may contrast with that of someone other than Julian LeFay... so I suppose I can't answer the question.

He just happens to be the Lead Designer of the best loved franchise on this forum.

Project Lead on Morrowind, the game which saved the company from financial plummet. So... the former.

my opinion of him pretty much is based on my current opinion of SK, even though I know how redundant that is. it is still so.

I don't know, I like him more for his strange, appealing oddity that, for me, turns into attraction. He's a very sixy man...

Todd is to short to be either a Greek God of Gaming or an Average Video Game Designer in stature.

He's damn good at his job though, as all of us can attest to.

This is true. He is like the Frodo of gaming , no one expects it, but some how he manages to do what no one else could

Average game designer worshipped only by generic noob fans who know no better...

this. If anything, Todd is destroying any good will he created in the first place.

I know. But, the topic is whether or not Todd is an amazing game designer. He was the Project Lead on Morrowind. Bethesda's survival relied on the success of this game. The game could've failed; but it didn't. Again, I'm not a stereotypical Todd fan-boy, but he definitely ranks up there with people like Newell, Levine, Carmack, etc.

He is, but what choices are out of his hands or not, Im not sure. Does he write his own PR? Is this really his direction for the series? Does Beth fully understand what they have created in the first place?

I really can't answer them haha. I guess the answers to those questions would have to come from Todd himself.

Which is why I posted my first comment. Todd creates, then destroys. Things are cut that have more of an effect on the fans, than anybody could have predicted. Its a duality to Todd, to create things we like, but destroy them as well. hence the 'destroy good will'. He creates in the first place, then he cuts. Going on Todd has most if not all control on final cut, sans producer pressure.

Does anyone know what Todd even does and what his influence means for Bethesda's newest games... most notably Skyrim? He was a game tester for Arena and a quest designer for Daggerfall and Morrowind while also being project lead for Morrowind... but then what and what, exactly, does he do as project lead? How much of what he says and thinks are his own and how much are that fabricated for PR purposes? What does he think and is he in full creative control?
