It's mostly unnecessary for Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but that said I'd use it if it were available.
I'm curious as to what specifically you base this on? If it's that there's a lot more stuff placed in the world rather than in containers, I could sort of see that angle... Except that FNV has lots of heavy craft items to sort into storage. I usually don't even bother selling all the weapons and junk I come across either since it's hard to find a good merchant and I don't want to clutter up the Gun Runners with Cigarettes and Fusion Batteries, so inventory management for me is as big a deal as it was in Oblivion (if not more).
If it's that FO3 and FNV have a hotkey to accept the dialogue, I 100% disagree. Not only it it annoying to hit the hotkey, but you have to keep moving the mouse back over to the list after each prompt and I can't count the number of times I came across a stack of 5 ammo or a larger stack that inexplicably transfers all at once (I think either casings or powder or something do this?) leaving me hitting A to Take-All my entire stash :banghead:
Regardless, I'd really like to see this as well. Especially based off the configurable one for Oblivion that could set the default click behavior (Ie. So it's click to move entire stacks, ctrl+click to move one, and shift+click for prompt, or whatever the user feels is best).
