Toilets in Skyrim

My character has been holding it for over month. He also needs a warm shower.
I suggest a Bathroom DLC immediately

First bathroom I found was in a mine close to Riverwood. But kinda know what you mean about the houses though. I guess you're supposed to go out in the fields somewhere. You're pretty stuffed if you get the runs though.

Actually, for the longest time, people went to the bathrooms in buckets and other containers and threw it on the street outside their windows. Why you never walked under a window in the cities. Romans had public restrooms, but I don't how many other cultures incorporated it. Also I don't know the extent of technology in Nirm incorporates it either.

Bathing on the other hand was definitely springs or vary rare occasion. It is expensive and time consuming to heat tubes of water. They may have bathed more in the summer time but in skyrim... a river from the mountains would be too cold.

You forget.. if everybody was dirty and stunk... it wouldn't matter if you were clean

This. I have noticed that in this game there are more places to go potty than in any other previous TES game that I have played. I never used to look for the faciliities until I saw these silly threads on going to the bathroom. Now I look for them and and there are buckets everywhere.

Without a functioning Sewer System or Plumbing, then yes, you either squat over a bucket, or go out in a field. Up until the early 1900's, it as a common job to collect the "Night Soil" from peoples homes. Richard Trethewey does not work in Nirn.

Have you tried using the 'I-Need-a-Toilet Shout' or 'Nau-Aan-Heyv!!!'? (On-A-Duty!!!)

What this shout does is it summons a toilet. When on the toilet, 'Creatures and people up to Lv25 flee from combat for 60s.'

The Thalmor had toilets banned, do you really think the Nords are just pissed off because of some 'ban' on talos worship?

THEY WANT THEIR DAMN TOILETS BACK!

You will earn in the TES world the inhabitants consume all of their food and water leaving zero waste no need for toilets.

I'm a little surprised rich, urban places like the IC or Solitude never have bathrooms in the palaces at least (think Roman-style bathrooms). For most people buckets or outhouses make sense.

One of the NPC sprites in Daggerfall is a guy sitting on/in a bucket while thumbing through a book. Funny how often you get invited into houses with that guy.

Surely, you've seen a pitcher sitting in a bowl on a dresser in many of the bedrooms of well-to-do homes? I'd be willing to bet it's not water in the pitcher.

That's it, I quit. Until Skyrim builds a sewer system and proper flushing toilets I won't fight Alduin. :yuck:
