Too Late becoming an Assassin?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 2:42 am

hey folks,

i am really enjoying skyrim so far, as a newcomer to elder scroll games i was kinda lost with races, perks etc at the beginning.

i am lvl 20, currently using 1-hand weapon / with either shield or fire magic in the left hand. and haven't been to the graybeard guys on the mountain yet.

all my stat points went into either health or stanima

perks:

3 points in smithing
1 point in the first heavy armor perk
1 point in the first destruction perk
2 points in archery
2-3 points on one-hand weapon perk
the remaining are unused

well, after lurking around in this forum i guess i would really like to be an double dagger / bow based assassin with smithing for deadric daggers and maybe enchanting?

my question: is it too late to become one? my sneaking is really low, but i guess i could train that pretty fast
and i am worrying if i placed my perk point in the wrong tree (1x heavy amor, 1 destruction..)

anyway to become a powerful sneaky nord assassin? :)

thx guys hopping for answers

You can use destruction along with a bow.
And one wasted point isn't to bad, if you want you can even play a heavy armoured rogue.

thx for reply mate,

well heavy amor rouge isn't really what i understand under a real rogue ... looking for wearing light armor, dual dagger and bow

if 2 points are wasted, it is still possible to place plenty of the remaining ones in the sneak , light armor, archery tree right?

Ah, you'll be fine. You just need to get a good bow, a pair of fine daggers and travel around sneaking. I'd suggest finding a few invisibility potions for tight spots if your sneak is low.

All you need is:

Assassins Blade Perk (Level 50 Sneak)
Deadly Aim (Level 40 Sneak)

Overdraw 5/5 (Level 20-40-60-80 Archery)
A Dagger with 25+ Damage
A Bow with 40+ Damage and Arrow with 10+ Damage

Dark Brotherhood armor, or any other armor with good stealth bonuses.

You've got plenty of room to work with really. I've completed the game as a battlemage, but played the "good guy role" and avoided the dark brotherhood and thieves guild entirely. Now I'm doing their missions without problems by just getting the thief stone, wearing the armor handed to me upon joining the thieves guild, and if I want to be really sneaky just removing all my armor entirely and only re-equipping once I'm discovered. I've invested NO points in sneak, pick pocket, lock pick, or speech, and am having no problems (although, they'll probably still help). Keep in mind too the level cap is ~80, so you've still got 60 points to invest eventually, which is plenty to fill out sneak, archery, light armor, one hand, and something else like pick pocket or lock picking, or block for unavoidable battles.

I started becoming an assassin at around level 35 until that point I used heavy armour 1her and sheild, the transition was not bad and since I got my sneak up I just wear my full armour and sneak around.

It should be fairly easy since you were training up 1h and archery a bit anyways. Your sneak will go up quickly but you may want to grab dark brotherhood or thief guild items. You can sneak around in heavy armor no problem if you use illusion spells like muffle as well.

Yes you can do both.

Joining the Brotherhood:

Joining the Thieves Guild

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Thieves_Guild_(Skyrim)

Here are some good daggers:

Blade of Woe: Complete the Dark Brotherhood quest.
Its probably the best dagger in the game.

Daedric Dagger: This is another great dagger. You need leather strips, daedric hearts, and ebony ore to make it.

To find Ebony Ore: Gloombound Mine (I believe its called that)

To find Daedra Hearts: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Daedra_Heart_(Skyrim)

Tip to get the most damage possible:

If you have the fortify smithing enchantment, make iron armor and enchant whatever you can with it.
Each thing you enchant will give an extra 10% when you turn your dagger to legendary.

Also, go to the Potion shop in whiterun, and she may have a BlackSmith's Elixer. It will give you +50% when enchanting.

I was able to get +90% on my Daedric Dagger, getting its damage over 90.
