I prefer it over Morrowind and Oblivion. That doesn't mean I still don't love any of the games prior to Skyrim; I still play them when I can.

I prefer Skyrim and dont consider it "oversimplified" too much. Beth is addresing a larger crowd to survive. They arent going to cater to a small fan base's wants

Exactly.. there's probably more casual gamers than hardcoe gamers playing skyrim.

But all these 'tes vets' want to be heard and believe it's their way or highway.

I don't think its too oversimplified. Does it need some improvements? Sure. IMO skyrim is better than oblivion, but not as good as morrowind.

You people have a hilarious notion of a Small fan base wants being detrimental overall  financial success, or hardcoe or whatever nonsensical statements being touted.

This is still a true TES. And it actually is more immersive than Oblivion, surprisingly. And it does a ton of things better than Morrowind.

What is being addressed specifically?

Options, what less informed/incredulous people label as Unnecessary complexity/complicated, what apparently only "hardcoe" Fans want, clutter, mess, extrenuous/worthless features.

What Skyrim Lacks.

Oblivion FTW!
it had spells
Alter of spell making
Made for PC
Could be modded, a lot more then Skyrim.
Followed lore, not made more up (Vampire DLC)
Had daedra (Scamps)
Was fun.

Skyrim is full of complexity and detail. So much was done in Skyrim such as the detailed objects, which was not necessary for the game to still have atleast 100+ hours of gameplay.

Oversimplified , I hope next will be more RPG and complex and that they will take no rushed unfinished product out ....

Holy [censored], it's Jack Bauer!

*puts on the raspiest voice conceivable*

"Where is the complexity and depth?"

. . .

"WHERE IS IT?!"

*end raspiness*

I respect you, sir. Please don't choke me and throw me up against a wall.

That is not going to happen. Just look at how excited people are getting about the prospect of vampire superpowers. Awesome powers are what shifts millions of units, not complex RPG mechanics.
Just look at Kingdoms of Amalur - that got massive praise because of its arcade style combat system with awesome combo moves. Personally I think it's awful because it's like a cartoon, doesn't seem like, well, combat - it isn't trying to pretend to in any way simulate melee fighting in a remotely realistic fashion. But that's the sort of thing the punters like.

Not at all. As someone has previously said, we indeed lose features of past TES games, but we also gained many of them. The curren system works, and allows me to immerse myself in the game world just as much as I can in Oblivion.
