Took a vacation from Skyrim OMG

Post » Sat Jul 07, 2012 1:54 pm

So I just came back from saving the Humans, been on a Mass Effect 3 tour of the galaxy. Anyway I downloaded Dawnguard, and updated with the recent patches, and began where I had left off. I'm a level 51 battle mage and major in conjuration. When I stopped playing Skyrim from frustration I could not leave Rifken, and my Sunguine Rose Staff never worked, and half the conjuration spells were broken. To my amazement, everything is fixed, and works great. Way to go Bethesda.

I was so happy to play Skyrim again, and had that excited feeling like when I first got the game. Then it happened, too good to be true, the game froze up, and continues to freezes up constantly, so my frustration is back. Why did I even bother downloading Dawnguard.

I am not starting over, I refuse to begin this game again with a new character, after spending all that time to get to this point and have to quit again.

Dear Bethesda, please email me when you have this game fixed. If you have a refund policy for returning your game plus time and money waisted, please put me on your list.

Cya all again in 3 Months, maybe - Dragons Dogma just showed up from Gamefly.

PS - Mass Effect 3 never gave me one glitch, ever.

When you started whining i lost all sympathy but that's just me. If you "love" the game and makes you so happy to play it just start another character. I lost my first character after 145 hours and level 67 and i started again and i didn't whine. Sure it's bad to lose so much time of my life but i like the game enough to just start it again and not whine in the forums.

So.... what's the point of this thread exactly? You don't have a question... just a rant?

My Skyrim has froze on Xbox maybe 5 times, and I've played over 200 hours. (the same can be said for many games I play)
I've not encountered a single broken aspect or glitches of any sort (except for a few visual bugs.)

My guess is that your save file already had some problems left over from before you patched it. Starting a new game would likely see less problems. If you don't want to do that, then come back in another year when GOTY comes out fully patched.

My Skyrim has frozen on me plenty of times. Ive also lost 3 characters due to a bug with the save file numbering, and had plenty of in game problems as well. Dont here me complaining about having to start over, because creating and leveling the character is the fun part. The rest is just something to do while thats happening.
