I want to know what is everyone's top 3 favorite non-unique weapons. Non-unique means they aren't something like the Survivalist's Rifle, Q-35, A Light Shining in Darkness. Because I want to know what weapons people use when they don't use a unique one, though you can name the mods you like to get for them. I'll start:

Service Rifle + forged receiver
I like the service rifle because it has decent firing rate, accuracy, and damage (at least to me) and the forged receiver means I spend less time repairing it. Its ammo is cheap easy to find or make and has never let me down.

Trail Carbine + Scope
This is a gun that requires high skill to use making it a bit of a love hate relationship, I can get it at level 1 though it is very very hard to do. But I usually end up using this as a sniper rifle, sure there are better guns suited the job but this one I just like. Its also pretty strong but the downside is ammo I can never seem to have enough with this gun.

.45 Auto Pistol + HD Slide
This is a fun one, powerful (sure ammo is expensive) and fires pretty damn fast. Served me well in Zion when I ran out of 5.56 and 12 guage ammo, and has saved me from a couple of giant Yao Guai (HH please why do you spawn those things 10 feet away from constantly?) reliable, but its durability is seems low even with the slide, though that could be my imagination.

Honorable mentions (I guess) are the Police Revolver and Machete Gladius.

So what are your top 3?

Lever-action Shotgun. Love that thing. And no mods or unique version of it yet.

Tomahawks. Just because.

And the Ballistic fist.

Assault carbine+ great al round weapon.
12.7 smg, an automatic with a round so big it will blow your mind.
Weathered 10mm pistol looks cool and IMO best side arm, the only side arm that comes close is the .45 colt.

RCW+ - Slays everything.
Fireaxe - Screw unique weapons for Melee, fireaxe is [censored] awesome!
Missile launcher - Too awesome explosion.

Hunting Rifle with at least scope mod
Hunting Shotgun (mods or none)
Power Fist (nothing like a good upper cut to send a feral ghoul flying)

Oh and also the fully modded varmint popgun. I love that thing. Currently level 22 and still using it.

1. I don't know if holorifle(fully modded) is counted as unique weapon but it's freakin' awesome. If it's counted then the winner is sniper rifle(fully modded) for that extra stealth.

Just for the hell of it Marksman's Carbine/ All American and A Light in The Darkness for regular use.

1. Marksman Carbine. My favorite main weapon.
2. 12.7mm pistol.
3. Fully modded Varmint Rifle (or Ratslayer if I go unique) the ultimate silent killer.

Honestly, I rarely use unique weapons as I see them as generally overpowered for what I want my character to be. Fun to screw with when traipsing across the wasteland/Mojave, but with it's questing time, I got back to the baseline models.

2 - Plasma Pistol (fully modded)
3 - Gatling Laser

-Service Rifle (my favorite weapon in the game); it gets the job done in most situations, and ammunition is abundant (Surplus is cheap and powerful)

-Anti-Materiel Rifle; Deathclaw hunting

-Sniper Rifle + Carbon Fiber Parts (I'm not a fan of the Silencer); high level human hunting

Ah, I forgot about the 40mm Grenade Rifle!

Replace the Sniper Rifle with that.

It's an awesome weapon in that it disables groups of enemies with a single grenade.
