**NO PROTOTYPE HATE PLEASE***

This thread is for the discussion of the Prototype game, and the upcoming sequel, Prototype 2.

Replaying Prototype at the moment, and really going after the Web of Intrigue. I don't know about you guys, but I love watching those mini-movies, and just getting little bits of information.

Looking forward to the sequel, mostly for the graphics upgrade, and changes to the combat system.

Also, how do you guys feel about the sequels protagonist? I liked Alex, but I can't wait ti play Heller.

I played the first one, but never got around to finishing it. Spent most of my time running around killing and breaking [censored]. :P

I'm little skeptic to the information about the sequel, where Mercer appearantly have gone bad for full. There's probably a twist to that though.

Was he ever 'good' in the first game? I don't think there's even an anti-hero in there, just straight up mass-murderer.

Maybe so, but in the first game, he came off as a confused disaster, if get what I mean. Sure, by the end of it, it turns out he did something rather aweful, but for the most part, he's really just confused as hell and in doubt of almost everything. I found it easy to not blame him in the end, and overall, it seemed like that at the bottom of his heart, he was good guy. The tone of the article I read, painted him as more callous and cold.

I liked the first game, although it was a bit short and overly linear IMO.

It is an open world game in some way and I'm generally a fan of post-apocalyptic settings. I think I would have preferred to be able to continue the story of Alex Mercer, but I'll wait to watch some gameplay footage before deciding about the sequel.

At the end of it, he was basically ready to lead the infected hordes. And Heller has referenced(in one of the trailers) the fact that Alex controls the creatures the virus creates.

And I realized today while playing Prototype, that you are basically the creature from The Thing, I couldn't help but be reminded of that movie while I was trying to stealth consume an entire base.
