What were you doing when this started?

What was the last successful quest you did finish?

Let me guess - you used some kind of magic or enchanted weapon on him.

Deliberately glitching to level up your destruction or did you just completely miss the part where he tells you not to use any kind of magic in the fight?

Either way, there's only a couple options - either reload a save from before you started fighting him and do it without magic, or punch him unarmed a whole bunch (typically at least a many times as you hit him with magic) until things get back to normal.

Awesome guess! I read a post exactly like this yesterday, and it turned out that the op had used a bound weapon.

And bound weapons are generated with magic. They don't always glitch out this fight, but it does still happen. Not as often as actually using destruction magic on him though.

Yah.... that's a REAL killer if the first thing you do is find a soul trap weapon to DE. First couple times I did the early Companion stuff, I had to reload prior, go BUY a cheap weapon that had no soul trap, and then do it again.

Silly, in a way. Considering.
