Transfer game to new rig? How?

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 11:36 am

I just bought a new rig. Flippin' bargain, and my old hard drive is sounding like a cement mixer on start up.

But I'm halfway through Vegas on the old one. Anyone know if I can save my progress and transfer it over? Or do I have to start all over again. I assume Steam may have an option?

Cheers.

On Vista(and mostly likely Windows 7), the directory of saves is: Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves

It will most likely be something similar for XP, but I'm not sure.

Wow, that was quick!
Cheers, really looking forward to seeing the results when I can play in higher modes.

Try this....

It tells ya how to move Steam from one directory/folder to another (on the same machine). I've done this successfully. Never tried to move the entire thing to another machine though, but it just might work (and save ya the time of re-downloading all your stuff).

Ta..
I have managed to save the 'saves' folder on my current XP rig and have the game on disc so am going to re load NV on the new one and copy the files over (to windows 7, eek!). Hopefully this should work...
I am an optimist. :-)
