Transferring Mods to Secondary Hard Drive

Hi all. Up until now I've been on the Nexus forum, but sometimes it can take ages to get replies, if ever. So, when I saw this place I thought I'd join to see if I have better luck with you on problems that take place, along with the obvious talk about TES lore!

Anyways, best to get to asking about the only problem I've got at the moment. I've got my copy of Skyrim, not in the x86 folder, but rather in my Games folder on my tiny SSD drive and really wanted all my mods to be stored on my big 1Tb HDD. Been taking some tips from a guy called Gopher, and I thought I had it sussed. Yep, they're all on the 1Tb alright! Trouble is they're not taking up the HDD memory but rather the SSD's memory! I've checked and although the mod files are on the HDD drive the actual memory eating data's in the Skyrim data folder on the SSD. Bit pointless having the mods on the HDD if they're still going to take up the SSD memory rather than the HDD as intended, don't you all think? Is there any way to store all the mod data on the HDD and simply have the basic game on the SSD?

Oh yes, I almost forgot, I've only just started using a few Steam mods for the game. Are they compatible with SKSE and can they run alongside Nexus mods while using SKSE?

I think your terminology is very confused.

Mods that are actually going to be USED need to be installed into you Skyrim folder, which is in this case on the SSD. You can't have mods installed on another hard drive, it doesn't work that way,

Thing is, on my old computer the system was on a separate HDD to the files that I had constant access to. My system was on a D: drive and everything else, like my documents, games, pics etc. were on a C: drive. Both worked together at the same time. The whole computer worked off a tandem HDD set-up. That's what I had in mind for this, the system to be on the fast SSD, and most of the games (except for Skyrim which I figured needed the extra speed) and mods to be on the HDD. Even Gopher said he wanted his mods on his HDD in order to save his SSD memory, with just Skyrim running off the SSD for speed, that is unless I misunderstood him?
