Transferring CK work to another machine.

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:35 am

So... I am currently in the process of moving all of my work files for my mod from my wimpy laptop to my new Developer Rig. I have succeeded in moving all of the files (including the ESP, all of the voice acting, and all of the scripts--both PEX and Source. However, here is my problem:

When I launch the CK I can load my ESP, but when I look at my quest I see that all of the quest scripts have

;CODE NOT LOADED
in their code boxes. How can I make these load? Does anyone know?

Did you move the scripts to the right place? If you do then they should be loading just fine... >.>

I made 2 folders on a Flash-drive. One entitled "PEX" and One Entitled "Source"

I copy/pasted the PEX and SOURCE files that my mod needed and pasted them in their respective folders.

I then (on my new rig) Pasted the content from their respective folders into the respective Skyrim - Data folder. (These folders being "Data-Scripts" for the PEX and "Data-Scripts-Source" for the source code.)

*In this case, source code being .psc files.

All .PEX files should be loose in the Scripts directory. If they're in a PEX subfolder, that's why they're not loading. PSC's are probably fine already if in Scripts\Source\

They are not in a subfolder on my new machine. The sub folder was simply for transport. On my new rig, they are loose in the Scripts folder

Hmmm... Not sure then. If everything's there, maybe remove the scripts from the attached forms and reattach 'em?

Okay... Something weird must have happened in the first transfer. It probably has something to do with the fact that I already had a full build of the mod on the new rig for earlier playtesting (to see my environments on the sweet new rig. ).

I simply removed everything related to my mod from the Flashdrive and the New Rig, then started the process over. Seems to work now. Thanks for the input guys.

Also: For anyone else doing this, my suggestion is to make sure there is nothing Mod related on the new machine, and then copy all of the files at the same time to insure a smooth transfer. : P
