As I travel around Skyrim I wish I had a…

I made this thread for people to list “minor” things they want included in a future patch or DLC. We all want large things like a magic overhaul with spell-making, but this thread is dedicated to the little things you wish were in the game.

I’ll start off... I'm a mage and don't use bows, so I want a spyglass that allows me to see far away in the distance. If I could equip it with lens that detect life/undead or had night vision that would be all the better.

That seems like a major thing... I'm asking what minor things you would like? Things that would be quick and easy for the Devs to put in?

he said minor things to be put in a dlc......

anyways, i think it would be nice to have different kinds of horse that have different speeds and stuff. like having one horse that is really fast but has less health, and then another one just the opposite

Yes thats exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about. And I wish the horses had something setting them apart too

A proper TG questline is minor. Obviously.

But, anyway, a few nice small features/add ons:

- Javelins
- Double-Sided Sword
- Unique items in shops
- Spell creation (of course)
- Some sort of development on being jailed (for example, people you have befriended could come and rescue you from prison/bail you out if you get locked up)

More things that I cannot think of now...

Actually most of my wants are quite minor.

I'd like more diverse wildlife, the ability to actually fish with fishing rods, a better in-game map, similar to Oblivion, I'd like a 3D image of your character to appear in your journal, like in Oblivion as well.

I'd like a few more skill thrown in, like Acrobatics and Athletics, I'd like throwing spears, the ability to divorce and get remarried, more NPC's available for marriage. ..

I completely agree with the wildlife. Why are there fishing poles and boats we can't use? That drives me nuts every time I see a boat.

I wish we could use the mead/ale kegs to refill empty bottles and/or drink straight from the keg. I also wish Skooma and alcohol had real
l consequences, e.g. less balance, risk of addiction, halucinations, and so on.

I wholeheartedly agree with all of this right honourable person's suggestions.

These are a few things that I think would be nice to add.
  • The ability to write an in game journal of some sort.Or letters to people, like a threatening note or a message to let you're wife know you're ok on you're travels.
  • The ability to set up camps so you don't need to search the wilderness to sleep.
  • Being able to perform some of the actions npc's perform, like sitting on a tree trunk or leaning against a pole.
  • Giving fishing rods some sort of use.
Here's a slightly bigger thing I think they should add and that is the ability to build a little home/Shack for yourself, like we saw in the gamejam video,it would give the sawmills a bit of use,as in,gather planks to build the home/shack out of.

Minor things hmm....

A Destruction perk, available at 65 Destruction — Spellweaver: Destruction spells with areas of effect or chain-damage effects will not effect Allies if enemies are around (ie Actually in combat).

Absolutely.. It's so irritating hearing people talking about skooma addiction, whereas you can pop them like stamina potions (well not like really) and not become addicted at all.

It was even worse in Oblivion, although at least Skooma actually felt like a drug in that game. Sleeping Tree Sap would be perfect if you had the chance to become addicted to it.

I'd also like to see non-alcoholic drinks in the game. Perhaps a water skin that you could fill up at lakes and rivers. This would be perfect for when you're out hunting.

I see you are from Scotland,so I say Well met Kinsman.Lol,but seriously,Sleeping tree sap feels more like a drug and the fact it make you're vision go all purple is what skooma should do.The proper effect should be 'Regenerates 25 stamina but makes you're vision blur and balance off' IMO.

Haha. Yeah, Skooma had negative effects in Oblivion, I think it reduced your intelligence perhaps or something like that. Maybe Skooma should harm your magicka regeneration or something since intelligence doesn't exist in Skyrim. Same with Sleeping Tree Sap.

Great ideas. The ability to write made me think. We have paper/linen, inkwells and quills... why can't we make spell scrolls as a part of enchantment?

I agree to 100%. Spot on friend.

I agree, and maybe we could use cows to get milk? (I know that you can't drink milk straight from the cow, but that's at least one part of the process). Also, it would be nice if we could use any empty bottle or tankard to fill with any drink, e.g. mead or water.

Place to put a staff out of combat. Disappearing staves are silly.

Maybe you could use it as a walking staff you always have on your hand like Gandalf use his staff in LOTR?

Great ideas. The ability to write made me think. We have paper/linen, inkwells and quills... why can't we make spell scrolls as a part of enchantment?

Maybe if they add a spell crafting feature, they could allow us to write our own scrolls and/or spell tomes.
