Trendy trending trends

So lets just say I'm not big into trends, especially ones that are tech based. 3D Movies, Kinect,PS Move and even memes are all things that I approach with serious caution.

However much to my chagrin I decided to sign up for a website called Stumbleupon for those of you who don't know what it is, Stumbleupon is basically a "randomized" search engine in which you input your interests and hit the button and it will pop up websites that relate to your interests. Now sure it pops up the occasional crap or thing that I may have found myself but when it works it works to perfection. For instance plugging in the simple interest of alternative rock popped out a website that streams high quality recordings of concerts. The concert it directed me to happened to be one of the greatest concerts I've seen done by my favorite band. It really is an excellent time sink and I have fallen in love with it.

So essentially I made this thread to discuss some other services, like Stumbleupon, or any other thing that you have initially resisted or ignored but then given in to your human interest and followed through upon and have ended up loving. This could be restaurants, movies, techie things, games, pretty much anything. Some good examples are Pandora, Steam, that popular burger joint you haven't ordered from because you don't like to follow the norm. Pretty much whatever didnt initially catch your interest but once you rediscovered it you fell in love with.

Please feel free to direct others to these things with links and the like.

Ill start with the concert website, itll link to the concert I'm watching but they have hundreds of others.............Baeblemusic

Ah stumbleupon if I have ever had a love hate relationship then it was with you, and still is!

Really, I love random pages but I hate insomnia, a seemingly unavoidable side-effect of stumbleupon, I even find myself wasting valuable gaming time sometimes in favor of stumble. Why ? Well I guess I'm a svcker for surprises, I just love seeing what comes next and I always think "hmm, what's next ?" after I stumble a page, heck sometimes I hardly let a page load before I stumble again... *hangs his head in shame*

A service or item I've only recently acquired would be a credit card. I've so far for 18 years not had a single way of my own to order items online but only went ahead and got a card for ordering the collectors edition of Skyrim, but then it turned out to cost me 230$ if I wish to have it shipped to me from Amazon so I still haven't bought it... I have to find someone on the mainland of Europe first whom I can pay to ship the game to me through mail by themselves after I'd order it to said someones house (as I understand it, it would cost me a lot less than 80$ to pay the shipping cost from the UK or Norway to Iceland if I had it done through conventional methods but not through Amazon).

There's Call of Duty 4 for me. I've uninstalled/reinstalled it like hundreds of times... along with Oblivion.

Well there are good blogs here and there, but if you don't already know about Equestria Daily then chances are you really don't need to go there. :P

I mean there's not much that people don't know about here. Stumbleupon is fully, what, 8 years old now? Pandora just as much, and if you've been up with any independent music making you'll know about Soundcloud (basically the DeviantArt of music I'd say).

Hence the name of the thread . There are a alot of things that people tend to ignore or resist, take for example Twitter sure its huge and has millions of users but I'm sure a lot of people choose to ignore it either out of spite or just lack of caring. Someone may have a love of a certain feed that provides them with a daily dose of enjoyment. And yes there are blogs, some are little unknown blogs such as one I found that shows images of the items people would take with them if their home caught fire and they could only save a few things. Yes, I am 8 years behind the 8 ball, but whats old is new again in the eye of the beholder. You wouldn't believe how many people I've found have never used or heard of Newegg because it seems easier to buy from a bigger outlet like Bestbuy or Walmart.

Strange Days. If you haven't seen it...what are you still doing here? One of the most underrated movies.

I loooove this program. I have the 4.99 service and I can't find very many artist at all that it doesn't have some songs for. Yes it doesn't have some of the music I listen to but it has vast majority.

Stumbleupon is the bane of my existence... I've never lost so much time to one single website like I have to stumbleupon.com. I love it, though. Good time killer. Unless I'm supposed to be doing something, then it's terrible. But aside from that, it's awesome.

I used to loathe the idea of using iTunes. Now I prefer it over Windows Media Player. Too bad it's not available for Linux (AFAIK). I also never liked the thought of going to the gym and working out and stuff. Been doin' that lately.
