No trogs I guess?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 6:50 pm

Well I was just lurking vault wikia when I stumbled across the troglodyte section, and it reminded me that the trogs were in van buren and that it said the trogs were in the caves around the hoover dam. Sure the game was cancelled but some people who worked on van buren are now at obsidian for new vegas (i think i heard that somewhere) so i was just wondering, if this were to be canon, do you think the trogs were killed off by the ncr and legion? or would we possibly see them in a dlc around lake mead and in the bowels of the dam? i would kinda like to see hill billy trogs in the game, it would kinda remind me of little lamplight; just with [censored] old people

so wat do you think?

They are canon actually, they were in a DLC for FO3.

No? Those are the only ones I know of, I never looked into Van Buren. Since it was canceled I didn't see much of a point.

Wrong trogs.....
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Trog

the trogs im talking about are the trogs that were actually "hill billies" that went into the caves around the hoover dam right b4 the bombs fell, they stayed there for years until they came out to look like mutated hill billies, but because of the cave systems, it protected them from too much radiation and they didnt go feral, so from wat van buren says, the took the underground hoover dam area and the caves around lake mead, but yea, theres nothing in new vegas about them

Well TECHNICALLY the Fallout 3 trogs make an appearance in New vegas, albeit a tad reskinned. :spotted owl:

My guess is that they were killed, probably when the Legion tried to take the dam last time.

On the other hand, the Van Buren Hoover Dam had a radioactive, monster-infested lake. The New Vegas version has clean water, and some harmless lakelurks.
So, it's possible that the Van Buren trogs don't actually exist, and never have.

Regardless, I wouldn't mind seeing some swampfolk (since they seem to fill the same niche) in a future DLC. Lake/riverfolk?

Lol a tad? I think they just put them in microsoft paint, clicked dark green and then used the paint bucket on them.

Why would anything from Van Buren have existed? The way I see it, anything salvaged from Van Buren and refitted for New Vegas, if it's explained as history, it happened. But Van Buren itself is no more than a game that never was.

still, i would kinda like to see them added, and i just got a rather weird idea for a dlc, where the boomers would let u use the virtual reality pods to try to fly a plane but the data to it is corrupted and you have to scavage for parts for your plane, one being at the hoover dam where they could have made this type of hoover dam to add towards the "feel" of a more apocalyptic wasteland, but then again, this idea came to be in 5 seconds

I don't see enough difference between them and feral ghouls to justify their existence.

This has been haunting me since the day I first stepped foot on the dam.
I was longing to finally see the real trogs...
Instead they went with copy pasta super mutants, burnt victims and remodeled "trogs".
I'm [censored] pissed off that they couldn't take the time to model/animate/whatever a new humanoid group and place them somewhere along the story.
