Trolling

Yeah, they should make them eat the chickens and dogs and all the people run inside or something.

Everybody in the village came out and started attacking it apart from the guards, cowards!! :ermm: :biggrin:

Nooooo nonono... do not attack the chickens. You have been warned. :shakehead:

I dunno though, what realistic about children dancing around a rampaging troll. I mean seriously... :wink:

@Murt>>

Ok mate, I was just putting it out there. Most jobs don't perform like your normal worker and you will be straight up fired for any that isn't part of a large company and not all of those default to common HR practices either.

NPC's being killed is kind of interesting and realistic, however it should be reflected by some kind of optional story line in order to get around it. For instance an Essential NPC may leave a diary behind detailing where to go next or some other kind of evidence? Or perhaps the person giving the quest knows that the other npc no longer exists and thereby skips that bit >_<;

It'd be something for Elderscrolls VI I guess :happy:

Edit

I also this thread was going to be a flame topic about the trolls in this here forum XD

I agree. Not very realistic to beat on your ally for 7 hours in the cave by the bear during unbound and he's still alive.

Yeah, even though I only did it for six months a couple of years ago and was let go immediately after our first patch hit after release, I still get a little defensive for testers. Everyone looks at them as "oh, they only play video games for a living" and it's totally not like that, it's genuinely hard work to play the same small section of the same game for 8 hours per day five days a week and they generally get no thanks at the end when the game releases and to see them attacked by regular gamers just bothers mem (I know you didn't attack testers, I'm speaking generally)

Anyway, back on topic: personally I've not seen anything bigger than a wolf enter a town in my game unless you count a dragon attack on the outskirts of DawnStar, I had the dragon situation perfectly under control until the town guards aggro'd it as well and it starting flaming indiscriminately. Lost one of the townsfolk, can't remember his name and I can only hope that he's not linked to any quests that I want to do there later.

I can fully appreciate that Murt, seriously mate. I run a Restaurant now, which affords me the time to persue other pursuits because I have great staff I just can't do without. That being said I manage the place and its people well because I used to work for other restaurant owners and, lets just say I think hospitality staff deserve better. Most new staff come to me with those issues and it takes alot of work to get them to chill out and gel with the rest. Don't get me wrong, I won't waste time on people that see me as a dupe. I give everyone an opportunity because a job should be more to both the employer and employee than merely renumeration. This means everyone involved in that equation has to work toward a common individual goal. None of my staff leave the way they came, they all go up to better jobs in this industry. Some unfortunately change industry altogether and thats sad, but if they are happy then its cool. Not enough of hospitality premises are owned and run by actual hospitality bred people and it shows, thats what I mean by its sad.

I thought you were a chef?

Co-incidentally, I used to run a pub/restaurant/hotel (well a few) - took a break from software engineering for a few years and went from chef to assistant manager then relief manager for a large brewery. Man, those hours svcked donkey croutons.

Considering the number of NPCs that are involved in quests, with the Radiant quests and all, if they made all quest related NPCs unkillable that would raise an uproar like you would not believe.

The best way Bethesda could have handled this was to make towns and settlements off limits to path scripting by enemies. It would get weird as you let a bear or troll chase you into town, but that is a small break in immersion compared to not being able to kill say a Stormcloak camp leader after the civil war. Then again, they could make it so the generic respawning guards would come out to fight the troll as it paced back and forth on the do not cross line.

Testers are the first people fired if a company needs to shrink as they are seen as a luxury. It really isn't the case, testers are invaluable and good testers are apparently like 'hens teeth' according to certain industry leaders around my area. When a product has been tested and the developers have fixed the issues it really does show, it's the same as proof reading. You can proof read yourself as much as you want but it is ten times more efficient to get someone else to do it for you, they're gonna pick up on errors first.

You haven't seen anything bigger than a wolf? You mean bar dragons? Do you know how many frost dragons have a fetish for eating NPC's? Do you know how many times I've been eaten? If I had a vore fetish this game would be right up my street -.- Still biggest think I've had (that I didn't lure in >=D) was sabre cat...oh boy that was funny XD

Lol I am. I am the head chef of my own Restuarant :smile: Which after being in the Army for just short of 10yrs was a welcome realisation to a dream I never knew I had in me. Love to own a pub. Would be an awsome challenge had an offer to syndicate but thats not quite what I mean when I say I'd love to own a pub. Are you Aussie? I am should put it in my locale and I'll fix that in a sec, but I got some mates that work in the sales dpt of Two different Aussie breweries they come out with some awsome stuff... I'm a big fan of beer. :biggrin:

Good point. But are the guard themselves Levelled with the PC? Something makes me think they aren't they die like crazy.

No never seen a troll enter Riverwood, yet when I was around Level 50 I found one near riverwood up the mountain path going towards that castle like building near riverwood. So I slayed the troll with two hits and moved on. Must have saved the people of Riverwood that day and did not even realize it. DAM now I cannot ask them for protection money....
The funniest thing I ever seen in riverwood was two dragons attacking at the same time, now that was fun.

Oh good! Its not just me then, I get that ALOT! soon as one dies though the other takes off and becomes invulnerable. I have only ever once killed both Dragons usually an ancient or Elder and one blood or frost; and unfortunately I later stuffed the game (my own fault) and had to reload and old save.

Which is a bit silly as in any walk of life the first to go are the vulnerable, but after a troll attacks it leaves all the kids??

The meat has to age properly.

LOL why even have the kids in game if you cannot kill them. Plus why can’t I get a wife in every city or have multiple wives for crying out loud. What’s wrong with that in a game where I can kill people all day long, but o no we can’t have them kill Kids or marry more than one person. That is just so wrong....

You can watch a war film any time of the day (ending life), but can barely watch a six scene (creating life), on TV

Hey, at least you get the marriage dialogues. I completed the amulet of Mara quests and nothing. I wear the amulet, nothing.

Maybe my character has bad personal hygiene. He's never taken a bath, sleeps on straw. Well, I suppose rivers might freshen him up a bit. Come to think of it, he eats a lot of food and never 'goes'. He must be seriously backed up by now :)

I remembered I killed a chicken myself ..... and got a 40 bounty on my head. O_o?

But I've never had a troll head into a town ... sounds funny haha. It must've been a sight to see, although having it kill npcs you need isn't so funny :P

It has to be said though, your character has to sleep. Needs to rest. Can eat.

It would just be logical for him to need to take a dump every now and again. He would struggle though, as the world of Skyrim has no toilets anywhere I can see :)
