Am I in trouble?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:34 am

I had a Regents(important examination) to take today and it began at 11:45 AM. It is now 12:00 PM and I woke up late. This was retake(I did well enough on the original, but I wanted a higher grade), so I'm not as angry at myself as I would be if I actually missed a Regents that I don't have a grade for, but I don't believe I've ever missed a major test before, except when I missed a state test due to influenza(just a minor cold today, nothing more). What do I do now? I was going to call my guidance counselor and my mom. This is the beginning of my summer vacation.

Well, you got an okay grade, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just relax and enjoy your summer holiday.

Yes. Go to your room.

It's where I spend most of my time, anyway. It's got a nice laptop with Arena and Daggerfall on it and I have an HDTV along with a PS3. May I come out by July?

Over here it's common for students to have the ability to enter an exam 30 minutes after it has officially started.

Even if you don't know whether that's the case for you, I'd get my ass down there as quick as I can, instead of going on an internet forum that can offer no help or guidance whatsoever.

Actually, now that I think about it, the exams here gives you a leeway of 30 minutes to enter the exam. But since you chose the capital idea of posting on here, you've missed the chance.

They don't let us into the regents room if we are late.

TeeHee, it's too late. He started this about 23 mins ago - all remote possibility of gaining entry is denied.

Will the Regent be angry with you?

1. Talk to your guidance counselor. Immediately. I think the worst that will happen is you will be scored "absent" and have to live with the score you already got. But only your guidance counselor can give you an authoritative answer.

2. Do not blow off exams or classes. Oversleeping is not an excuse anywhere: "you snooze, you lose". If you have a problem with waking up on time for important scheduled events, address this problem with your parents or a psychologist.

(You are correct in that you will not be admitted once the exam has started. UK members who can show up 30 minutes late because their exams have a different protocol don't have the right answer.)

Well, this board does not have the same "sir spam-salot" effect. Most of the isses are real-ish.

I left a message for my guidance counselor.
