I'm kind of far into the game but i've been having this problem since early in the game. So you see... back when I got to the part where you can choose to fend off the powder gangers from goodsprings or help out the powder gangers... I decided to not complete the quest until I found the benifits of the powder gangers. So i eventually found the correctional facility and I talked to the guy in charge and I got the quest where I have to kill chavez (or whatever his name was). So I killed the target and then I totally forgot about going to get the reward and instead I helped out the people in good springs over the poweder gangers. I became vilified with the powder gangers and now I can't complete the quest with the powder gangers.

So here's my question... is there anyway to bring up my fame with the powder gangers... at all?

No. since your vilified you will probably be attacked on sight.

I had the same problem in my first playthrough. Even wearing powder ganger faction gear doesn't stop them from gunning at you if you are vilified. Only thing you can do in that situation is blast them all to hell. Most preferably with a shotgun because they have low DT

Watching the guys get launched backwards from a shotgun blast is SO much more fun than watching them splatter into gory pieces (Its the reason why after my first playthrough I didn't get the blood mess perk)

I was vilified by the PGs within minutes of starting 2 playthroughs by siding with Goodsprings citizens at the start, and actively taking part in that battle, taking several of the PGs down myself. I really wanted to see what quests the PGs had though, so on my 3rd playthrough I blissfully ignored the Goodsprings situation (almost literally putting my hands over my ears and saying "la la la, I can't hear you") and headed off to the correctional facility to find out if there were any quests for me there.

But is there anyway to get fame from them? In my current situation.

I believe the only possible to do it without using console commands is to go to the town of nipton. In the general store there is a crippled powder ganger inside. Give the guy med-x and each time our reputation goes up.

What DrDankness says, and also follow the quest that NPC gives you if you talk to him about what happened in Nipton. Sometimes though your rep with a faction can have fallen so far that it's irreversible - it's just a feature of the (IMO magnificent) faction reputation system in the game, there's pretty much always a way to get through the game regardless, although you might miss out on a few quests here and there and it might mean more shooting and less diplomacy (although the PGs are not a major faction so don't lose any sleep over it) - it's impossible to do every quest in one playthrough anyway, so if it doesn't work out for you with them this time, just make a mental note to try it out a different way (as I detailed in my earlier post for example) for your next character.

You can get a little bit of fame for them if you rescue the two from the Legion Raid Camp (after going through Nipton). But even though they respawn you can only rescue them once so it's probably not enough.

But here's a question; like you I want to go to the NCRCF and talk to the leader to see if there are any quests, but the first PG I ran into on the road south of Goodsprings were already hostile. Is the correctional facility neutral at the start, or did you have to do something to get them neutral?
